    The **Now Eating** Thread

It must be something to do with the oil and frying temperatures they use.

    Career advice?

Well if it's not spam there seem to be a lot of timewasters that will make an initial post and then never reply.

2-3 days in Iceland.. Top things to do/see?

Rick Stein did a Long Weekends programme for Reykyavik, might be worth a watch.

    Career advice?

It's some kind of spam because it's not the first kind of post you would make on a computer forum and way too detailed. Hence no reply.

Would You Send a Photo/Scan of Your Passport Over E-mail?

I think no, because it's not going to be end-to-end encrypted, making you vulnerable to identity theft. I would be sending from Outlook online, but even though that might be encrypted(?), the recipient e-mail may not be. So, I think it's not good practice to e-mail a copy of your passport...

Who has had their roof cleaned?

Pics would help the assessment. I would agree that one of the main issues is extra weight from water adsorption by the moss and greater potential for water damage when freezing. If it's not that mossy, then it's largely a cosmetic issue.

Best way to test TV Aerial Connection?

I take it you've tried rescanning for channels on your TV? If you're getting some channels, it suggests the cable is intact, and seems more likely to be an aerial positioning/pointing issue to me.

Spec me - A DIY Solar for a small garden shed

Anyone ever been bike jacked yet?

In which case I would say just ride a cheap bike rather than have the stress of a potential bike jacking.

Anyone ever been bike jacked yet?

Don't ride an expensive bike on routes where you could get bike jacked for it. Get a cheap bike for these routes. I know it sounds bad, but if you can't relax on an expensive bike, what's the point? Buy a cheap bike and benefit from the extra fitness gained from pedaling more weight.

    Advice on coworker's smell

My view - Take them aside for a discreet meeting and say to them you'd like them to work on improving their standards of personal hygiene as you feel they aren't meeting the standards necessary for working in a shared office. Ask them to work on it for the next month, and say you'll let them...

    The **Now Eating** Thread

It's fermented soy bean paste and tastes salty, yeasty (fermented) and tangy, kind of broth-like and rich.

Any monitor in portrait orientation mode?

My understanding is the monitor must offer portrait mode functionality, not all can do it. Brand-wise, then LG, Dell and Asus are my recommendations. What is your main use for this setup?

Spec me - Phillips screwdriver set

Wera are generally well regarded. I have some Stanley ones and they're good too. Like others have said, just getting a bit holder/driver and using a bit set is a good option. Having a ratcheting action is also very useful. If you want to do some serious research, there's a list of tool...

    Printer

There aren't that many brands of printer anymore, you can find a list of manufacturers on this printers page. Years ago I bought a budget Brother mono laser. It does the job but the print quality isn't great. I would go for Brother or HP, but I would spend a bit more than budget entry-level...
