34" Ultra wide OLEDs coming soon?

At the moment only LG Display (the panel manufacturer) have plans to develop higher resolution and pixel density ultrawide panels, but the 34” versions won’t be for a while. They’re also doing the same with 39” and 45” panels in their range, although it’s likely these will all be super curved...

HP Omen Transcend - 32" OLED, 240Hz, KVM, 140W PD

It’s very late to the party I agree based on the current ETA of Dec 2024 but saying that it’s DOA I think it a bit over the top. there are no current plans for updated 32” panels from either Samsung or LG Display on the roadmaps so the current panel options are likely to remain for a while...

LG announces the 32GS95UE - worlds first 480hz OLED monitor

Dolby Vision support is scaler dependent and limited in its availability right now. LG don’t list it as supported on this model unfortunately so I don’t think it will have it

MSI Mag 323UPF - worth it at £500?

It’s a solid 4K IPS monitor and that’s def a good price for it. Used to be £800! Review here https://tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/msi-mag-323upf

    Dell U4025QW - 40" 5120x2160 120Hz

I’ve been asking Dell, but they’ve not been able to provide me one yet I’m afraid. A bit useless

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

you need the USB-C connection to support DP Alt mode (for video) AND power delivery of whatever your laptop requires to charge/run it. that's one feature then the other would be a KVM switch which allows you to plug in a single keyboard and mouse to the monitor itself, and have that control two...

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

You would need a KVM switch built in to the monitor as stated, but you’d also need the screen to support a USB-C port with DP alt mode for video and power delivery to charge your laptop. The Dell AW3225QF doesn’t have either I’m afraid

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

The increase from 240Hz to 360Hz is pretty small, maybe relevant if you're a serious or competitive gamer and are chasing best motion clarity, frame rates etc. I think the increase to the 4K resolution and the larger screen size of 32" is more beneficial to most people :) see my review here...

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

set it to 10-bit in windows, that will allow support for 10-bit content where relevant, and will cause no issue with anything else :)

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

For PC usage then yes, turn DV off and use the Peak 1000 mode for HDR, otherwise it detects ALL HDR content as DV and the tone mapping will be off. sending of DV content from windows and a PC is a real pain right now, and there's not much content that supports it anyway so safer to leave it off...

    Alienware AW3225QF 240hz with DP 1.4?

you can disable DSC on the Asus but you will then cap the maximum res/refresh rate available as said

    Alienware AW3225QF 240hz with DP 1.4?

Absolutely it can run perfectly fine at 4K 240Hz. It uses DSC over DisplayPort 1.4 to make that possible like ALL the current 4K 240Hz monitors. Have a read of this for a lot more on the topic https://tftcentral.co.uk/articles/when-is-displayport-2-1-going-to-be-used-on-monitors

VESA ClearMR Certification on new OLEDS

49” are available now so you could maybe look at the Samsung Odyssey G95SC, or the G93SC which is the same, just without the (rather annoying and crap) smartTV functions :)

HP Omen Transcend - 32" OLED, 240Hz, KVM, 140W PD

i hate to say it but all this “overclocking” sounds very dubious to me. Inputting a res above the panel native has very limited benefit, especially when the panel here is already 4K. I could see some potential value if it was a 1080p display, much like technologies like NVIDIA DSR. Increasing...

VESA ClearMR Certification on new OLEDS

There’s no relationship here between the refresh rate of the panels and the text clarity thankfully. The text was improved a reasonable amount when moving from the gen 1 34” QDOLED panels to the gen 2 49” panels so you’d see some positive changes there. You’d get even more improvement with the...

VESA ClearMR Certification on new OLEDS

ClearMR is a certification for motion clarity and gaming performance so won’t have any impact of bearing on text clarity that you’re looking for Info and analysis on that scheme here https://tftcentral.co.uk/articles/vesa-clearmr-certification-our-analysis-thoughts-and-concerns The 49” QDOLED...
