    Self hosting bitwarden

it's easy enough to do but I wouldn't make it (or anything really) internet facing. I have mine accessible over my local network and sync stuff when I'm home. The vault is still accessible on my phone/laptop outside my local network but I don't have to worry about the security implications of...

    Best back up method

worth noting that a mirror is not a backup. If you accidentally delete a file it's removed from both. I'd mount some external drives as individual drives and use a scheduled task in restic to back up to them and set it to keep a year's worth of snapshots or whatever. You can then sync the...

Which operating system do you use on your servers?

I used CentOS 8 for a long time, upgraded to Stream, I had a bunch of issues with docker images being broken due to selinux breaking overlayfs. Ultimately it was more trouble than it was worth to try to solve the issues I was running into, every time I solved one something else didn't work as it...

    Access home server over internet?

Keep in mind that a VPN while security focussed is one huge hole if it is breached. If someone accesses your VPN they basically have unfiltered access to your entire network. That's a lot less secure than a single service being breached. edit: Personally for this use-case I'd sync my files to a...

    How about a Linux gallery?

I recorded this ages ago but my theme is the same. Highly customised Wayfire desktop on Arch Linux

    Debating a custom loop!

I don't know, I went all in with hard tubing with my first watercooled build, it just looks better. If you're going to go to the trouble of watercooling what's the point in doing it in a less than optimal way and if you're planning to use soft tubing to experiment then intend upgrade to hard...

New Agesa released 1.0.0.7B, massive memory speed boost for Ryzen 7000 on AM5, up to 8200MT/s now stable on Ryzen!

Fwiw, My system is unstable at 1.4v memory but rock solid at 1.35. I'm using 4 dimms so a bit different. I cant even get it stable at 5800 with 1.4 but 1.35 is good for 6200! Counterintuitive but less voltage is better for me

    LTT called out

Probably can't cope with the demand. Normally I'd say that it's due to them not expecting so much traffic rather than anything stupid they've done but we've seen them put all their data on a ZFS pool without reading page 1 of the manual so who knows.

    LTT called out

Why I watch LTT: "Let's see if we can make this stupid watercooling system using some weird combination of stuff that isn't designed for it" not their reviews. LTT has, at least in the last 10 years, been more like top gear, over the top fun stuff just because they can and light on informative...

New Agesa released 1.0.0.7B, massive memory speed boost for Ryzen 7000 on AM5, up to 8200MT/s now stable on Ryzen!

It's SK Hynix so should be fine, it'll be interesting to see if 7c does make any difference once it's available. I've gone back to the previous bios for now

New Agesa released 1.0.0.7B, massive memory speed boost for Ryzen 7000 on AM5, up to 8200MT/s now stable on Ryzen!

I can run 4 sticks at 6200 by just setting DOCP II in the old bios though. No effort required. I can't even post at 6000 with 7b.

New Agesa released 1.0.0.7B, massive memory speed boost for Ryzen 7000 on AM5, up to 8200MT/s now stable on Ryzen!

I cant even post with 64gb (4 dimms) on my asus x670e extreme with a 7950x3d and teamgroup 7200mhz ram I enabled nitro mode and docp ii, set it to 6000mhz and it hangs with FE bios code. I thought this could be the code for the 5 min nitro memory test but I've left it over 15 mins. Can anyone...

What kind of switch do I need to do this?

Thanks for the suggestions! > I get what you're trying to do, but your network layout is "wrong". Yeah, that was my original plan. I had intended FTTP to be installed so that I could plug the connection straight into the server, then the cable connecting PC1 would go to the switch...

What kind of switch do I need to do this?

it is, but I only want it to act as internet in. The server has two network cards, one which connects to the ISP router and one to the switch/WAP. The server is acting as the router here for most of the network, it gets an IP From the ISP router but is the DHCP server for all the devices on the...

What kind of switch do I need to do this?

This may be really simple but before I buy anything here's an overview of my network setup: images upload I have a single cat6a ethernet cable from the ISP router to my server which acts as a firewall, nas and VPN. The idea was that everything would go through this. Unfortunately, I had FTTP...

Watercooled 7950X3D and 7900xtx liquid devil

Ive seen the cpu hit 63 and gpu junction temp get to 72 with the unleashed bios. All the fans are on 250rpm so it's super quiet :)

Watercooled 7950X3D and 7900xtx liquid devil

Yeah, they're Mo-Ra3's. They're plumbed in series in a single loop to keep the number of tubes going in/out the case to a minimum
