It's hard to base a decicion on others opinion of noise levels. The same drive can be loud or quiet depending on what it's mounted in/on. One of my 12TB reds vibrates a lot but with some acoustifeet on my case which sits on a wooden desk you can't hear the vibrasion at all, either in the room or...
I was going to suggest diskpart, it's brilliant. Why disk management has to be so useless I'll never know. It can't even wipe a USB drive that's had windows installer setup on it with microsofts own tool! diskpart to the rescue every time.
I did already check, you can see in the conversation with support. It's not possible on this card, one of the screws is obscured by the PCB. It's about time these warranty stickers were banned like they are in the US. Making you void the warranty to replace the one part which is most likely to...
No I didn't want to, said is seemed like my only option to avoid being without a card given it wasn't possible to repair/replace it. For full context here is a screen shot of the whole thread, the one refered to above is post #11. https://images2.imgbox.com/38/9e/JenqTq9j_o.jpg I see there are a...
Exactly, what is the point of a warranty otherwsie.
My old card is gone so if I get a refund I'm stuck without a card unable to pay the inflated prices. Just feels like I'm getting screwed... might as well of sold it straight on for a proffit and got a faster card.
So I can get a replacement? That's what I thought but support are telling me otherwise https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/rtx-3050-issues.18948201/
I was one of the lucky few to get the Palit 3050 for £240. However now I don't feel too lucky because the fan is faulty and the card needs replacing but I'm told the card is now EOL. So I can only have a refund which would be ok but my old card was faulty and long gone so I'd be without a card...
I asked support and they have reasured me it's normal because of the design of cooler palit have used.
They also said to get a vid if the fan does it again and they will get a replacement GPU sorted. Been using it again today and the fan is still fine.
Maybe sag isn't the right word to describe it. If you look at the line I drew on the photo it's more of a u shape. It bends more in the middle where the heat sink bolts to the PCB as if it's over torqued. Concerned it will effect long term reliability.
Did manually adjust the fan speed when it...
Has anyones Palit 3050 started to sag? It's worse in the middle where the cooler clamps onto the PCB. There's no weight on the power cable.
Also the fan started rattleing really load a few days ago but it's not done it since.
Should I be worried?
Would try reseating the heat sink but there's...
I'd go for it. The QVO drive is still plenty fast. Just check the write cycles covered under warranty are going to be enough otherwise you might want to go with the EVO. 720 TB should be plenty though and the drive would likely do many more than that as well.
For reads QVO is fine and that's mostly what games are. On the higher capacities the write speed and endurance is still perfectly acceptable as well as long as your not doing large sequantial writes all day. Much better prices on the second hand market too, SSD prices accross the board need to...
Bit late but as has been said just keep an eye on the heat and I like to use something TeraCopy that has a verify option. Copy is safer than move as well so you don't lose data if the drive dies during the transfer.
All of WDs SMR drives seem to do it. I RMAed a 6TB one because of that noise and the replacement is the same. Very disconcerting sound isn't it.. like metal grinding.
No it was this one https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/4-sticks-better-than-2-ryzen-5000s.18905725/
Maybe it just got deleted instead of merged with that one. Our convo isn't in that thread.
Very good point and yep 0.3%. I guess for encoding 4x dual rank won't make much difference then.
