Backdoor found in widely used Linux utility

Ah, I didn't realise. Just a lesson to stay vigilant I guess in that case.

I'm coming to that conclusion. For £18 a month you can get Visio Plan 2 (incl VAT) so you get the desktop app and the browser based app and I'm finding it hard to justify an alternative. Should be able to run it on Parallels just fine.

I had a look at Omnigraffle which seems good but is pretty expensive. I'll look at the free version of Lucid Charts and then see. Thanks.

Is there a reasonably priced alternative to Microsoft Visio at all? I can pay for it on my Microsoft 365 account and it is about £5 a month but I'm curious what else is out there.

I mean you'd hope they wouldn't fall for those attempts. It sounds dodgy right from the start. But what is more worrying is this is what we do know. What is there that we don't know?

How is iMovie for simple YouTube videos? I want to record my screen using OBS Broadcaster and then blur out and edit the footage before I upload it to YouTube. I don't think I really need to do anything too complex. Also what do people use for thumbnails? I can't afford the Adobe software for...

You could play around with rsync. The only problem is that it works on the file layer so if one line of text changes in the file it'll copy an entirely new file to your backup. Having said that though it is pretty powerful.

That is certainly true. The Mac Studio is a beast and coming from the M1 will be massive.

Fair point. The more I think about it the more I think I'm going to skip the M3. My tech brain wants me to upgrade but my bank account doesn't :D. I mean I can pretty much do everything I want to do on my current Mac anyway. I just wish I had one with more storage.

    ICloud Bookmarks - Better options?

I've used pretty much every browser over the last 10 years and have always imported them into the new browser. I've never lost any in all of that time. I'm use Google Chrome right and seems to be fine. I did use Safari for a period of time and didn't have that problem.

Looking for a nice WIRED Mac mouse

Sounds good! As far as wired mice go you can't really beat it.

If Apple released some AI stuff that required the M3 Ultra then maybe but honestly I don't need it.

Logitech G-Hub is what you want to look at.

I'm thinking of going from the M1 Max Studio to M3 Ultra Studio. Not only will it double performance it will also double the amount of RAM and SSD space. If I can get a trade in rebate for my current Studio that might bring a few hundred quid off the upgrade price. I'm basically waiting to see...

*** The official M3 MacBook Pro thread (it has the M3 chip, is available in Space Black and everything!) ***

I mean I've been running my M1 MBA in low energy mode for at least a year without noticing. Gives great battery life but also feels reasonably fast.

What is the best way to get headphones to work on the Xbox? I had a wired pair which worked fine but they broke so I'm looking at something that will last for a while. Under £100 would be good. No need for a microphone.

Going from an M1 Max to an M3 Ultra should be a pretty big upgrade.
