    Critical Error - Kernel-Power Event 41 - After 4090 install with RM1000 PSU

To chip in I had a similar problem with Kernel power error crashing, I replaced or swapped out every component in the system including psu, motherboard, cpu, ram and graphics and it didn't fix it. The only component left to swap was the CPU, which I thought would be the least likely component to...

Possible Defect With Ryzen 5700G APUs

I have a similar audio crackling issue on my laptop with 3300U, and haven't managed to find a solution yet. However, it only started after I replaced the laptop screen, so I put it down to that. Initially I thought i'd damaged the speakers, but it happens over headphones as well.

    What crappy luck

Does the issue occur with the mobo outside the case as well? I'm sure I had a similar issue one time when there was a screw loose that had lodged it's self under the mobo and was probably causing a short of some kind. I think it tripped a safety feature on the mobo/PSU and prevented boot...

Quality of PSU makes a HUGE difference to onboard sound.

Ok quick update. I just cleaned out the headphone jack of my LG G7 with a cotton bud and some isopropyl alcohol. It was actually quite dirty and must have been affecting the quality of output! So now the G7 is back in the lead, I did think it was sounding worse over time!! So I will revise my...

Quality of PSU makes a HUGE difference to onboard sound.

Just wanted to make this thread because I'm genuinely astounded at how good the onboard audio is on the ASUS TUF B450 Gaming Plus. Unfortunately I had to give up my old modified x-fi xtreme music sound card with this new build as my current motherboard doesn't have a legacy PCI slot. Initially...

    CPU History

    Pentium 2 Celeron D 2.93ghz (in pre built pc - it was awful!) Athlon x2 4200 Core 2 Duo E6420 @ 3.2Ghz Phenom X2 550 unlocked to 4 core @3.2ghz (this was amazing - imagine a 6 core ryzen with the possibility of unlocking to 8 or 12 core!!!) 2500k (then 2600k) Ryzen 2600

    ElectricQ 1440p monitor (eiQ-27MQ95FSHDRU) can't run above 60hz?

Thanks for all the replies. I tried the monitor with my ryzen laptop via HDMI and 95Hz works fine so it's clearly something to do with my card. I have manually set the resolution and refresh rate in the AMD control panel it goes up to 1440p 88Hz before the screen starts flickering. This is over...

    ElectricQ 1440p monitor (eiQ-27MQ95FSHDRU) can't run above 60hz?

I can't seem to get my new monitor (link below) to run at the advertised 95Hz. It won't go above 60Hz at any resolution (tired 1080p as well and it's not working). I have an R9 290 which I understand supports DP 1.2 (which means it should support 1440p 95Hz surely?). I have tried both DP and...

    Your favorite graphics card?

8800GT has to take the top spot! What a beast and still so wallet friendly.

Oldest graphic card still be used for gaming?

I'm using a r9 290 in my main pc, and intel HD3000 graphics in my intel i5 2520m laptop that surprisingly allows me to play rocket league!

    CEX, What to buy...

Last I checked the Cex credit notes don't expire (unless you plan to live to the year 3000 because that's what it said on mines!). You could save it for next generation?

You Thought You Saw The Last Of The RX 480, Well Think Again, As Its Back!

    Reminds me of the 8800gts/9800gtx/gts250!

Upgrading my mum's ancient Acer X3960 PC on the cheap - will a xeon work here?

For £20 why not? Probs worth changing the thermal paste after all this time anyway so why not upgrade in the process?! Although, only if the heatsink is up to the challenge.

    phenom II 955 stock

My brother had the same CPU at stock with an R9 270 and when I upgraded him to a 2500k on the cheap he got a bit of a bump in many games. I think it would be an injustice to pair a 480 with such an old CPU lol.

    Replacing Xonar Essence STX

Perhaps the component that had popped out was an op-amp? I remember the STX had the ability to change op-amps to customize the sound signature of each output. Do you hear static from all the outputs?

    Card for i5-760

The GTX 580 was quite a large and power hungry card so you'll be giving your PSU a easier time with an RX 570 :p

Sapphire X1950 Pro Dual - (dual-GPU graphics card)

Wow I didn't know they made dual x1950's, impressive! Is this for a retro gaming PC? Surely the 8800GTX would have been the card to get over this back in early 2007? Must have been a limited release.

    AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

They could do something similar to AM2+ (DDR2) and AM3 (DDR3), if I recall you could use an AM3 cpu on an AM2+ mobo for use with DDR2, or buy an AM3 board and use DDR3?

    AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Agreed! These points were my favorite from the muddled garbage... 5.0GHz is doable, but it’s a challenge 5GHz boost isn’t infeasible 5Ghz all core is pretty much a no-go. Overclock for overclocking, Ryzen 3000 is still faster

The Sandy, Ivy and Haswell (Hazzy?) Upgrade Thread

2600k owner waiting for 32 core mainstream before upgrading :P Probably going to pick up an 8 core Ryzen 3000 when the prices reduce later in the life cycle.
