hers my final build for win7 and photo work(check pleaseeee)

ATi make the best budget cards (well currently they make the best graphics cards on the high end too) go with the HD4700 series, although if you can put just a little bit more a HD4850 is probably 1 of the best value not to mention performs great.

hers my final build for win7 and photo work(check pleaseeee)

That motherboard doesn't have integrated graphics, no screen output, so no graphics card = no connection to monitor = no picture. Not to mention it's sort of null & void to grab a computer like that only to screw yourself over with a graphics chip that can't pull it's weight.

    Spec me a rig (£1k)

I tend to put them at a similar level as it's abit of a mixed bag, although by the tiny margins both the bit-tech & Anandtech reviews put the 860 above the 920 at stock (in encoding) as said in some other areas it's a mixed bag whether it's the 860 or the 920 either come out above the other only...

    Dual Boot Question--desperate for help

Well generally installing an old Windows OS after a newer OS rewrites the boot order as the older OS doesn't take into account other OS (or really this applies to XP & older) generally 1 thing I would try it booting the Windows 7 disc & it should come up to install but if anything like Vista (I...

    Spec me a rig (£1k)

Ok, for kicks I decided to aim at matching price as the poster above me, but with 8GB. So I'll just go on with my own logic blah blah & you can make up your mind on what suits you best. So the changes? The most obvious one is the change from socket 1366 to 1156, this can & will affect you...

    LGA1156 or LGA1366?

Personally I find this all to be subjective, people are quick to rule the 1366 as the best, it has chunks of memory bandwidth, can overclock further with lower voltage due to having no onboard PCI-E controller & doesn't switch down to 8x/8x when SLI/XF, of course because of the on-board PCI-E...

    Abit IP35 & GTX 275

I have my GTX275 currently sat in an Abit IP-35 Pro board & it's working alright. I thought I'd mention it so you know that it can actually work with the board. My GTX 275 is from XFX though not Gainward. (Although this GTX275 is soon going in my next rig) Perhaps try your BFG GTX275 in his comp...

just built a new system and cant get it to work:(

Quoting the original because it's more relevant to my answer... SATA drives are usually set to Cable Select (CS) so it's not really as relevent as it used to be, now you say the Windows disc boots up when the HDD isn't connect but not otherwise? Perhaps it's because of the boot order, it's...

Simple C Program - Copying Files

Use a pointer! :) char *ptr = destStr; ptr = strcat //so on then use ptr in Copyfile instead. Since you're working with directories & windows API then perhaps use MAX_PATH as the size of the arrays, destStr[MAX_PATH] as an example. (doesn't save from those out of bounds problems that can crop...

Simple C Program - Copying Files

Error code 5 is Access Denied, easiest way to find out is to have a function to format an error code & display in english what the problem is a little more. DWORD MsgID = GetLastError(); char *TextSize; std::cerr << "Error has occured: "...

    Sleep/Hibernate. Long term Safety

I use Vista & my comp goes sleepy-byes every night until it gets cold enough that my comp is my eternal heater for the winter! :D But over the entire summer it has been fine entering sleep & resuming as soon as a keyboard button is pressed or the mouse is moved. I don't know about power...

    Help With I7 Build

Talking to yourself much? :) In the i7 setup the board is a good price given it being new or even used. Out of the 2 the i7 will perform better at stock than the AM3 build, in my opinion it'd be worth it, however you'd likely need a different PSU, unless I'm reading the connections wrong it...

    Concerned with Temps

I know the Thermalright sometimes has uneven base, it was 1 of my reservations about getting it as I didn't want to lap, but took my chances anyway, I have otherwise been getting good temperatures, it seems as said that one point where I suddenly get much warmer temps & I'm not 100% sure why...

    Concerned with Temps

:D Or Crazy, 1 or the other! :) I've not got them down yet however today I haven't been able to do much since I've been so busy, well in fact it's about 6Am now after being up all night & all of yesterday & I've not finished sorta shows how it's been... I yesterday before I went to sleep took a...

    Concerned with Temps

Well it is somewhat ironic, but with me setting the voltages back it's nearly all back to defaults the only things aren't are USB Legacy at BIOS instead of OS or something like that, It is getting pretty late, so I will continue tomorrow after a quick look at what I can change & hopefully I'll...

    Concerned with Temps

Alright, I also see I had MCH set to absolute maximum, I feel somewhat lucky I didn't attempt to put it higher! :D I've been running Prime with round off checking since the last post & it's been ok, but I will try your suggestion, as it feels like that would be the better idea... I will edit...

    Concerned with Temps

Alright I've put them back to their stock values which are the lowest values, except for CPU VTT 1.2V Voltage which is up from 1.20 to 1.23 (still lower than 1.27).. I've put VCore to 1.4400 V & Will try it there, The reason the voltage was up at 1.4500 (Yea it were actually that high) is...

    Concerned with Temps

Alright, I'll try that... If you could give me a quick guideline I'm in the BIOS at the mo (I have 2 comps setup next to each other so very convenient actually) currently I have each set CPU Core Voltage: 1.4500 V DDR2 Voltage: 2.100 V (GeIL's recommended voltage) CPU VTT 1.2V Voltage: 1.27 V...

    Concerned with Temps

Thanks for the link, seems I was downloading different version or something, Now I've started it up & just 1 prime stressed all cores as you say. Ouch, Now it's warmer! I'm somewhat not suprised in 1 way, suprised in a bad way in the otherway, As said before I had it at 3.1Ghz abit lower...

    Concerned with Temps

I'm sure that is where I got the prime I got, but I will download & reinstall anyway as a double check.... Also I am dual-booting, I can boot into Vista however so far I've been booting into Windows XP for the stress testing.
