This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

For me every month since Dec has been cheaper on Agile - over that period it works out to be just touching 20% cheaper than tracker. We weren't switched for most of that time however so i expect we'll actaully get a few more % as theres effort not to run things like driers or dishwasher loads...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

bigmike is refering to the compare feature in the agile portal which yes, is hot garbage with its average on smart tariffs! In the Octopus Compare app it does as you asked, it calcs the price per half hour as you would have consumed it on either tariff (you can add intelligent go, flux etc) for...

    Any one fit a carpet?

I've done a room slightly larger than that size and it was easy, just watch a few youtube videos on general technique and take your time. It'll probably be even easier with a real kicker but i fashioned my own from a block of 100x100,, a board and nails through the end. Spare carpet under lay...

You talking about this octopus compare or something else?

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

That's a combination of my wife being Japanese so she doesn't really do oven dishes at all and having a gas hob. She still cooks pretty much as we normally would. Also I have 2 computers and 2 servers on 24/7 so have high base load and can take advantage of the mostly lower periods outside 4 to 7.

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

@HungryHippos I would say the comment about min maxing entirely depends on the tariffs you are on. With Tracker you could try to do things on certain days when there are low prices. With Agile there’s even more incentive to do so throughout the day. I found that my normal usage pattern meant...

Need some inspiration for garden / shed placement

Personally i agree with Armageus, i would be doing an 8x6 or 9x6 shed in that corner next to the garage, the 6ft size will almost be spot on with the fence so the garden will have nice lines and i don't think it'll look bad from the kitchen window, esspecially if you stain the shed and fence the...

What's wrong with my fridge freezer?

Don't think theres anything wrong with your freezer. Given the info provided and the ice being inside a sealed package. Issues with the freezer itself would show themselves on the outside of packaging. You simply have a pretty wet pack of sasuages imo.

    Spec me a toilet seat

Not sure how a toilet seat cures splash black, if you drop in a few sheets of roll before you go that does help reduce it. I have these in my house and i recommend them (at least on the toilets i have), had issues in the past about slippage from the mounting which these ones seemed to solve...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

We've just about turned the heating off, this winter it's cost us about £320 to heat the house which is not too bad since it was on 24/7 at 21c for all rooms since October. My electric has been averaging around £85 a month regardless of winter or summer but I have several computers/servers on...

    Locksmith Cost

You can always just smash a window, double glazing is pretty cheap to replace and easy on most windows. I bought a new one that cracked and for a 50cm wide by 90cm tall it cost around £45 ordered from a local glass company. Took me 10 minutes to fit.

Vented System - No Hot Water

I just want to point out that while heat loss from the tank is true, in winter time (unless you don't heat your house or your tank is in a loft etc) then that heat loss just contributes to your home heating eventually. So the paper figure of 1-2kWh per 24h is only really applicable to half the...

    1.2L Puretech/wet belt issues

Just an update, got back from Italy this morning with the inlaws after driving it to Manchester and back (5 adults, 2 kids with 3 checked in luggage’s on a roof rack! Sufficed to say that 1.2L was doing work shifting that over the Pennines). This was the main reason I was in a rush to get it...

    1.2L Puretech/wet belt issues

On this engine i'd class it as advanced DIY - as always access is the main killer! If i had a pit or lift life would be bliss. You don't need the full head cover off that would exposes the cams (unless you want to inspect them). Theres a partial plastic cover that comes off with a few pipes to...

    1.2L Puretech/wet belt issues

Sadly, I don't know what was done for the first 3 years of this cars life. I've only ever used the recommend 0w30 PSA approved one for my engine model.. In anycase I have a deadline of Monday because my inlaws are actaully staying over from Japan and we need the car to go to the airport/Rome so...

    1.2L Puretech/wet belt issues

Did the belt actaully snap and trash the engine or they did some analysis on the wearing parts/oil delivery channels/decided and it was easier just to replace the engine? Had a look with my endoscope and the belt itself isn't missing teeth as far as i can see but it sure does look to me like...

    1.2L Puretech/wet belt issues

So i've got a 4.8 year old car at 55k miles with a 1.2L puretech. It was only after I bought it I became aware of the infamous wetbelt system. I'm the second owner of the car having had it for about 1 year and a few months. Timing belt replacement is 6 years or 60k miles (although dealer...

    Interference from neighbours network

I know you know, but just to clarify this for any readers, if you are using 80mhz then you want your channel (control/index channel) to be 36 or 52 (or w/e the first channel is based on this table when you hover over the 80Mhz column options 5GHz Frequencies). If you do strictly as advised and...
