Cant you just boot into Windows 7 and access the data on the XPx64 disc from there - why do you need to boot the machine? Also, Safe mode (F8) boot and uninstall the AHCI driver is a possibility. Good luck either way.

Whats the slowest car you've ever lapped the Nürburgring in? Mine is a hired Citreon Picasso - took 15 minutes and if you can handle the shame and the stares, its still a pretty amazing experience. Recommended, especially just before the Belgian F1 GP - it was an epic weekend I assure you. :)
