    cotswoldcameras

Wouldn't touch e-infinity with a bargepole. My package presumably got stopped by customs and never showed up. Customer service gave me the runaround for a month saying they'd opened a dispute with the courier at this end (who never received the package). Ended up doing a charge back.

what is the best way to review large number of photos

I prefer nailing my folder structure down in Windows Explorer first. If that's not an option, I've not found anything better than Lightroom Classic for image management.

Need Help Choosing DAS Backup Solution

I'd definitely recommend at least some sort of cloud backup, if you're not able to keep a physical copy offsite. Ideally you should follow the 3-2-1 approach. 3 copies, including the original. 2 different media. 1 offsite copy. Backblaze works out at about £10 a month. Offsite/remote backup...

Need Help Choosing DAS Backup Solution

I'd start by figuring out what you need to back up, and how large that would be. For instance, I'm a hobbyist photographer, so my photos are my top priority. They're on a dedicated internal drive with my docs and music. My 2nd highest priority is the OS partition, so that's backed up too...

    4x nvme adapter in x570

Should be fine - those adapters often have a heatsink, so they should be fine with the extra weight.

A useful video on storage media life expectancy

I find luck plays more of a factor than anything, especially if you're talking cold storage.

    Monitor for photography

Seems to review well on DisplayNinja Good price and the factory calibration seems impressive. I'd lean more towards 4k for the pixel density, but 1440p is OK. Definitely invest in hardware calibration. I use Calibrite, but Spyder isn't bad either. Just don't go for the entry level models as...

Has RTX Changed The Way We Game?

It depends on how well the devs have implemented it. Some of the RT effects in Control can look stunning, but some of them are only noticeable on the FPS counter. Arguably a well modded vanilla Witcher 3 looks better than the RT version. If it's a choice between disabling RT and dropping to...

PC Build (£1000 budget - Gaming / Video Editing)

Looks good to me. VRM cooling isn't the best on that mobo, but you should be OK.

    Compatible upgrade?

Also look at how much clearance you'll have between the gpu and the case door. You have to be really careful about how you bend a 12vhpwr cable.

PC Build (£1000 budget - Gaming / Video Editing)

Do you use/plan on using anything in your workflow that uses CUDA? If so, you might be better off going Nvidia. If you don't, there's not much in it between Nvidia and AMD according to Puget (at that price point). I'd be inclined to go for at least an 8-core AMD, so a 7700x.

    Upgrade path from older APSC

If you don't need lightning fast AF, the A7Riii is also worth a look. It's still smallish, but it feels a bit better in the hand.

Out of the loop - £1500 to spend on gaming PC (no monitor, case, ssd, peripherals)

Are you carrying over a gen 4 m.2 from your current build? If not, I'd suggest adding a WD SN850x.

Intermittent failing to POST issue on PC

Can you retest your memory with memtest86? The one in Windows isn't great.

PC keeps shutting down after new CPU

Any overclocking on the GPU? If you've got afterburner installed, are you sure it's not applying a profile? I had issues with an unstable OC on Mass Effect 4's loading screen, of all places.

Can't make my mind up on these 2

    There's an AF version now.

How do bluetooth devices keep powered?

Depends on the device. My G915TKL has a replaceable lithium battery. My Razer Basilisk X uses an AA battery. If you're buying something that doesn't use AA batteries, check that the battery can be replaced.

    How old is too old?

I'd hang on to it until it's out of warranty. It should have a 10 year warranty, so you're 1/2 way there.

    t500 1tb not worky

Check you haven't overtightened it before sending it back. I did that in my PS5 and it caused no end of problems.
