    Which IT Cert.....

ITIL isn't really technical, it's more about structuring an organisation (who is responsible for what, and to who does everyone report). The CompTIA cert is indeed just a foundation. It might be required if you're going for some certifications (for example for MCSA I had to do A+ and Network+...

IBM Chip that emulates brain functions

    I can just imagine how a programming language for that chip would look like. if(no coffee in mug) { pour coffee in mug; }

Going to Amsterdam tuesday! Spec me things to do

For what other reason would people visit The Netherlands besides smoking pot and drinking beer? I mean there's nothing else to do there, except for cycling through farms on even roads endlessly ;) Back on-topic: try the Sex museum. edit: if you're in a coffee shop, try some Space Cake (make...

How do people deal with their inevitable death?

I have a terminal condition myself (DMD), if you have something like that (or cancer) you're gonna think if you have achieved anything in your life when the time comes (in terms of, "can I be proud of myself then?"). Or you really want to know the answer to the famous question "is there life...

You can unlock the AFP support on Lion using these steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4700

Using Lion Server for a Home Server

That works fine, you can even use Time Machine to backup the files of any other Mac you have. Honestly I wouldn't use Dropbox as a storage application, instead buy a big (external) hard drive to store data.

php: dynamic includes. is this way safe?

This should work fine, can't see why it wouldn't work. If you could give us more detail like what you're trying to achieve, I could take a more detailed look at the code and (if necessary) I could give you some alternative ways of doing it :)

    Learning material

Sybex LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 would be the ones I'd recommend :) LPIC-1 covers basic use and configuration, and LPIC-2 covers advanced configuration of system components and servers in a business environment.

Ubuntu Server - To GUI or not to GUI

If you're gonna use it as a 'real' server, then you don't need the GUI. It only eats resources which you could use for other purposes. Install SSHd, configure sshd.conf to disallow root logins (login as a regular user and then use sudo to become root), and if needed you could configure a...

Took me 1,5 years to get a job under the same circumstances. I do live in a remote village, so that is one of those causes.

29 year old man becomes grandfather after daughter, 14, has baby

It would be a bit too late for that now, or does something like post-birth abortion exist?

Graduated with a 1st, no job

When you've graduated, you should look for a job. You're not gonna get jobs thrown at your feet when you walk out that door...

29 year old man becomes grandfather after daughter, 14, has baby

If they keep using that age in the family from now on, he'll be a grand-grand-grand-grandfather when turning 85 :)

    Anyone with an SSD?

Sounds like a defective drive. Using Sleep won't cause any problems, been using the Sleep feature on my SSD Macbook Air all the time, without any issues.
