Normally out of the box these are configured with the ASDM enabled, just browse to its ip via HTTPS and login with the defaults ( normally no username and password cisco)

Sorry my point is that most HBA's without BBU will not allow write back cache they would only be write through. Some of the PERC's you can force write back.
From my experiance VMware without write back caching is painful
My guess would be no BBU write back cache on the controllor? Have seen this a lot on VMware infrastructure.
If i remember correctly Starwind allows your to use RAM as cache?

Guess this guy does work for them though... But we use starwind a lot and for the past 3 years has proven fairly solid.
Only time we had problem when we used starwind write-back cache feature and then had a memory leak which then dropped the targets
Recently moved to http://www.vivaciti.net/ and must say very happy. Sync went from 7mb to 13mb and can pretty much consitantly download and 1.3MB/sec.
I would add that i have only been with them a month but so far very happy
Will reduce noise on the line as they are not used other than 2 & 5. The other cables just act as an antenna for picking up noise.
All modern phone will only use 2 & 5 you may only get a problem if you have some antique phone
