There are some lovely images in there - but I'm not sure about the consistent crop throughout the images. Some it works brilliantly on, and is really quite innovative and creative. Others it feels forced. But overall really nice work :)

Isn't it crazy that we might be shooting in the dark yet producing low-noise images, before we can build lenses that are worthy of a 30mp sensor?!?! :D

Really interesting read. It makes a lot of sense to me! It makes you realise that the only reason we put our thoughts to lens quality is due to the fact that it's the weakest link, relative to resolution etc - because electronic manufacturing development is outpacing mechanical manufacturing...

The background of that photo is really nice exposure for a punchy portrait. Some lighting on the subject really would have made that photo - looking forward to seeing it again with some OCF! :)

I'd agree with the above advice re learning what you want to shoot first. However, a 50mm prime is a safe bet to buy as it's almost always useful for something, it's cheap, and it will easily sell second hand if you don't like it. In fact, if you buy second hand then you're unlikely to lose...
