How would you route cables for this?

This is a very good point. One I'd never considered either. I'd be keen to know if this is allowed too as I do actually have a socket almost directly above.

How would you route cables for this?

Yeah 30mA rings a bell. Sounds expensive, all for a bloody wall mounted TV. Surely others have experienced this problem :( Rules and regulations these days eh...

How would you route cables for this?

Yeah, there's an RCD on the main isolator. Not sure what this means for me in terms of running these cables though.

How would you route cables for this?

Doubt it because I have coving there and that'd be a huge job. Would then need re-plastering I would think, instead of just being able to fill over the channel. Not entirely sure. Here is a photo of the consumer unit:- https://ibb.co/iJULc6

How would you route cables for this?

Ahh perhaps I am yeah... Great. So what I thought was a simple job is turning out to be an absolute ballache. My walls are dot and dab so I have very little to play with in terms of chase depths. And as I need horizontal runs AFAIA, I cannot chase more than 16mm depth. Out of interest Entai...

How would you route cables for this?

Yeah I was thinking along those lines too (literally :p). Hmm, my existing ring has rcd protection anyway so not sure why he was mentioning a fuse box upgrade. Just don't want to get fleeced.

How would you route cables for this?

Spoke with an electrician today and was told I'd need a fuse box upgrade because I'd need RCD protection... For one cable run due to me having to run it out of the safe zone and around the fireplace, also because I can't go more than 16mm deep on horizontal runs. Seems ridiculous. Surely I...

How would you route cables for this?

Thanks bremen. Yeah I've read up about all that, it's just ensuring that I'm wiring each socket correctly and only taking spurs where I need them that I need be 100% sure on. It may be a job for a sparky but if I can do it myself I'd prefer to.

How would you route cables for this?

Thanks mate. I've chased cables before but I'm not 100% on the electric side of things. Forgive my ignorance but do you mean fit a FCU for the lights spurred from the double socket and then a second FCU spurred from the first FCU, to the TV? I may have it totally wrong but thanks for your...

How would you route cables for this?

Hi all, Bit of a long shot but I'm baffled and struggling to work out how best to run the electric and AV cables if I were to wall mount my TV above the fireplace. Obviously I'm thinking a fused outlet behind the TV and the easiest option would be to spur from the double socket to the bottom...

    iPhone 7 ** Rumours & Discussion **

I'm at a loose end as to whether to upgrade from my 6 plus or not... speculation says that the 2017 iPhone 8 is the one to wait for and that the 7 will merely be a minor upgrade. What are your thoughts? Sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't see it anywhere.

Buying a car today - advice please?

I'll keep this short. I've found a Fiesta Zetec S for £8k from a used car dealership, looks in good condition, 30.5k miles, all is well and good. Just called them to ask about service history and was told that it had it's first service at 9k miles, and a second service at 30.5k miles (by...

Pairing 5.1 speakers with an Onkyo TX-NR363.

Thanks for that mate - clears a lot of things up. Definitely considering buying the MA Mass from what you're saying. I have found the system minus the sub, new, for £399. Would you recommend buying the complete system including the Monitor Audio sub, or buying the 5.0 system and then a BK sub...

Pairing 5.1 speakers with an Onkyo TX-NR363.

Thanks for the reply Lucid, that's really helpful. Had a look the Monitor Audio Mass system and it definitely looks like the kind of thing I need, especially because of space restrictions etc. My only question would be, because this is a '5.1 in a box' kind of system, a lot of AV forums frown...

Pairing 5.1 speakers with an Onkyo TX-NR363.

Thanks for the response. That's pretty in depth. It's for my bedroom, so ideally the corners are best in terms of keeping things off the floor etc... it's a shame, but I need floor space :(

Pairing 5.1 speakers with an Onkyo TX-NR363.

Pairing 5.1 speakers with an Onkyo TX-NR636 I have just bought a new Onkyo TX-NR636 receiver which will allow me to dive into the world of 5.1 audio. The question I need answering though, is what speaker combination would be best for me? My budget is around £500-600 for speakers and a sub...

£2.2k to spend on a TV

You people really aren't making this decision very easy! I'm only upgrading because my PS4 doesn't seem to work with my Panasonic 42PX80B. Keeps flicking between 1080p and 16:9 to a point where I end up with a black screen... Slightly off topic but it's a PITA.
