Best way to get bandwidth to the loft? Wireless/powerline? Other ideas?

Thanks for the info bledd, makes sense. Just to weigh in on the OP. I get the annoyance of having to undo work to lay cables but I don't think there's any denying it's probably your most reliable solution. Our phone lines come in overhead so the router is in the loft. Wired connections are...

Best way to get bandwidth to the loft? Wireless/powerline? Other ideas?

Got a different situation but looking at the same set of options. In my case it's down the garden to an outbuilding and quite a distance from the house and whilst I still see a lot of difficulty in where exactly I can run a cable I think it's probably the only practical solution over such a...

    Help trying to identify issue

Hi there. Looking for some help in identifying an issue with my PC. It's a self-build ITX machine less than 6 months old with the following specs: MOBO - ASRock H170M-ITX/ac CPU - Intel Core i3-6100 RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4 HDD - Seagate 1TB The issues started about a week...

    ITX for Office Use

I suppose several reasons really. I've done the Dell route previously, before I had any real knowledge of computers, and don't have an issue with them. I imagine something like the Optiplex 3040 Micro would be fairly well suited and in-line with my expectations but I feel like for not much more...

    ITX for Office Use

Hi guys, Would like your input on a small form factor build for office use. I'm used to more gaming oriented builds so could use some pointers as to what gives the best bang per buck at this level. I'm looking for: Case (as small as I can possibly get whilst ideally retaining 3.5" support...

    Tiny ITX & upgrade bundle

There are a few on a certain web flea market and a couple from uk etailers but neither are ones I've heard of or could vouch for. As I said if we get hold of one we'll use it, if not that's where plan B comes in. Either way we'll need a compact ITX case and a power supply to suit - any suggestions?

    Tiny ITX & upgrade bundle

Considering s1155 ITX boards seem a bit sparse we're considering a plan B. Leave the above build intact apart from GPU, which he will upgrade. Spec up a small ITX build from scratch. What's are your thoughts on this alternative?

    Tiny ITX & upgrade bundle

Yeah I believe so, I checked that here: http://ark.intel.com/products/65511/Intel-Core-i5-3450-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_50-GHz should have HD2500. The ITX office build wouldn't need dedicated graphics but might need space for a 3.5" drive. I had a look around on a few sites I know of but...

    Tiny ITX & upgrade bundle

Hi all and a very Merry Christmas. I know Boxing Day sales started on Christmas Eve but now it actually is Boxing Day I feel like I can get stuck in. Helping a friend out for this one. The jist is he wants to upgrade his gaming rig and also produce an ITX machine [preferably from hand-down...

** OUR SECOND 8 PACK APPROVED OC BUNDLE: OVERCLOCKED, DISCOUNTED, ELITE TIER VERY FAST!! **

Ah, cheers Blame, had looked under the 8 Pack link at the top and the OcUK bundles page but not found anything that way. In my defence (though I don't mind the new design) I think the new site could do with a bit of simplification.

** OUR SECOND 8 PACK APPROVED OC BUNDLE: OVERCLOCKED, DISCOUNTED, ELITE TIER VERY FAST!! **

like the look of these bundles, any plans for something for those of us who work with something a bit more cosy in proportions - aka mATX boards?

    New Build is "double booting"

Mine did this until a newer BIOS came out - might be the source of the problem if no overclocking has been done yet

    Gaming Upgrade Build ~1k

Hey Fallen God, thanks for the reply. Was just reading a few other upgrade threads and starting to think offsetting the other components against just a higher spec. GPU might be a more beneficial upgrade so I appreciate that input. Monitor-wise I have somewhat of an attachment to my current...

    Gaming Upgrade Build ~1k

Can't believe it's already been several years since my last upgrade but its almost Christmas so what better time for some new components than when Santa can lend a helping hand! Without further ado this is what I'm running right now: Asus P8Z77-M Pro Intel i5-3570K w/ Thermalright Venomous...

Green pixel artifacts in 2D with HD4870

Hey guys, Just woke my monitor up and I was greated by a load of mostly green (some red) pixel artifacts all over my monitor. They seem to appear in little blocks of about 4x5 pixels wide and become more numerous when the image on screen is moving eg. when scrolling a wbe page. Here's a quick...

**NVIDIA PRICE DROP: GTX 670 FROM £249.99 & GTX 680 from £329.99 Inc. VAT!!!**

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-305-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=2294 You would have to double check but this is going to be your best bet as it's the only 670 I know of which doesnt extend beyond the shorted PCB - around 6.7" compared to the usual 9.5". 680 are...

    ** OcUK Tech Labs Kits - V6, V8, V12, W12 & TURBO! **

Some nice W/C kits there, and good to see them with pump/res combos - great use for often redundant 5.25" bays. Any plans for stocking 180mm radiators? I'm considering W/C for my TJ08E and a 180mm radiator would be perfect for the front AP181 - maybe a Uber Turbo mode which ups it to a 180mm...

Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Morning all, At the moment I'm running an Samsung 830 as my boot drive with an older 120GB Vertex 2 as a Steam/Origin drive. With the Samsung 840s at tempting prices I decided to get a 240GB version to replace my rapidly-filling Vertex 2 as my new games drive. Basically I'm looking for...
