Yes it does - on Professional and Ultimate, but i'm only going to be using Home Premium. :) I've just used the Sysprep tool on a test XP system in Virtual PC - going to rebuild now using Macrium Reflect. If it works, i'll test with a Windows 7 install tomoz :P

Q8400 supports hardware Virtualisation, as do the more recent Q8300's. Q8400 would be my choice also. :)

In Word 07 you cna click the Office ORB and select Word Options, in here somewhere there is an option to set Office 97-03 format as default - if that's what you're looking for. I can be more precise when i find out for sure :)

I would assume yes. If the application can fully utilise four processing cores then I would assume having dual/triple core would cause a performance decrease - of how much i'm not sure though.

Depends. Applications such as GTA IV and Far Cry 2 both utilise Quad's I believe. However, if the majority of apps you currently use can't utilise, you might as well wait, til other solutions appear.
