The ex, identity theft and fraud.

Wow, I remeber seeing this a few months ago when it all kicked off. Massively pleased for you that your kids now have a stable home to thrive in, and massive kudos to you for being such a great dad - hope you had a really great father's day with them!

Getting iOS7 onto my iphone :)

Quick question: if you downgrade back to 6.1.4 on the iPhone 5, will your baseband version also go back down to 3.04.25? Just wondering if something were to happen to the phone before 7 is GA and needed to take it into the genius bar if the baseband version would throw up a red flag?

Condensation issue - Claim and court.

Check with your home insurance - it may have legal cover that could pay for some or all of the claim. Other option is representing yourself in county court. Getting the landlord to pay up could be an issue though, so even if you win you may walk away with nothing.

SODASTREAM - are they worth it?

http://priceonomics.com/soda-makers/sodastream/ Depending on how often you use it, which model you get, and what price you normally pay for supermarket fizzy water/cola you can pay off the initial up-front cost either really quickly, or so slowly that the machine will have broken in the...

    ADSL Vs. MPLS

Why is ADSL not the best solution? Are there actually problems being experienced from using it?

    6.0.1 Released.

Anyone else notice how it installed an "IOS Updater" app, rather than doing it in the settings app?

SSD questions and a spec me

Samsumg 830 is good and around that sort of money last time I checked. It's also got epic endurance (another forum are benchmarking them and have got it up to over 5 petabytes of data written, which is well beyond the stated life of the drive).

Does sleep mode really damage SSD's?

The other reason people disable hibernate is it sticks a honking great hiberfil.sys on your disk, which cannot be moved (with junction point trickery or other methods). By default this is set to start at 75% of your system memory, so if you have 16GB it'll take up at least 12GB of space. You...

    Iphone 5 camera issues

I've just been looking through some photos, and there's a few I took a couple of months back with my iPhone 4 in similar conditions (bright light just out of the camera's field of view) and the purple haze was there (albeit to a lesser extent).

    IOS6 HAS IT WIPED ALL?

What phone is it? If it's an iPhone 4 (not 4S or 5) she MAY be able to rescue the photos. Google "Dr.Fone", download the trial and see what it finds. For the curious, it uses the iPhones DFU mode to upload a custom firmare image to the iPhone memory, which then runs a scan on the entire...

    Apple's current direction

Really? Samsung seem to be "look, lots of new stuff that nobody's found a good use for yet, let's stick it in!". Great product design is about deciding what to leave out, not what to put in.

    Apple's current direction

wow, that's really, really awful. The app icon is a very important visual cue when looking for something. If they have to go down the "widgets/live icons" route (because everyone else is doing it, not because it's particularly good from a UX point of view) I'd rather they keep it in the...

iPhone 5 worth it from 4S

The 4 was a single-core Cortex-8 class chip. The 4S was a dual core Cortex-9 class chip. So for a start there's a 2nd core so that you can be running two independent threads at once, which will help improve responsiveness, but then it's a more modern micro-architecture, so even though it's...

    Work place pensions

As others have said, the no 1 benefit of a pension as a savings method is the tax benefits. For every £100 you put in, as a basic rate taxpayer, it only costs you £80. Show me any other investment that gives you an instant 20% return, followed by decent growth (if you've selected the right...

iPhone 5 - Just not doing it for me this time around

You say the screen is still too small, but what do you do that needs a big screen? One of the things I do a lot of is watch video (keeps me sane during my commute). Moving the screen to a 16:9 aspect ratio has meant that the perceived size of the video has increased massively for me (I always...

    **The iPhone 5 accessory thread**

Careful with that. My wife got one as part of the iPhone 4 "antennagate" free case offer and after a while the rubber became very loose and all sorts of stuff got into the case and ended up doing a right number on the glass back - I've never seen so many scratches on a device before in my life.
