Spilled half a pint of water on my rigg, £1200 to spend on repairs

My motherboard (Asrock z68 Extreme 4 and gtx 980 are fried. My 2700k oc @4.6 and 16gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 are probably ok but I have no way to test them. Everything else seems ok as far as I can tell. Its been a while since I really looked into upgrading as I was happy with my setup but I...

Daughter left her laptop switched on out in the rain

Well she done this on Thursday, however on the Monday she had already dropped her Motorola G 16gb in water and it's fried. I've ordered her a new one ..... £150.00 I tried the rice and keyboard trick and it did draw water out but it's still not working. I have ordered a new one, managed to...

Daughter left her laptop switched on out in the rain

I did wonder about that, but I've had the cable disconnected and reconnected about 8 times now and always the same keys. I'll try messing about with the cable tomorrow night when there is daylight and I can see it better.

Daughter left her laptop switched on out in the rain

I stripped it and dried it out, it had quite a bit of water in it. It is working fine except for some keys not working. Its a Fujitsu Lifebook AH532 and the keyboard looks pretty much sealed so i didn't want to force it apart. The keyboard might have moisture in it but seems to be dry now...

Can't access BIOS since SSD upgrade

I used Easeus Todo Backup to clone an existing 500gb drive to a new 240gb Crucial M500 on my windows 8.1 Fugitsu Ah512 laptop the other day. Very pleased with the result except that I can't get into to BIOS anymore using F2 post windows. When I press F2 there is a beep, but the laptop...

2700k@5Ghz - Any point in changing?

I bought my 2700k from OCs nearly 2 years ago and had it @4.6 since the day I put it in, never tried making it go faster but OC advertised it as being one of the first 700? or so that came to Europe and as such was better quality than what was to follow (OCs prolly made it up to sell more) Any...

Google Android or Chrome event 24th July

I'm not sure its that great. I was looking for it to be able to mirror my phone i.e. sitting in a hotel, plug it in and play a movie/ tv episode that I have stored on my phone and have taken with me for that purpose. I don't think this dongle can do that? At the moment I just plug my phone...

    Worth buying a 2700k now?

I've had a 2700k clocked at 4.6 from the day I put in 1.5 yrs ago.....never one problem with it. Pretty mild clock and it could do a lot more. If it was my choice and I wanted to keep it cheap it would be a second hand 2700k as the performance difference after ocing is marginal/extra cost imo.
