**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

Just ordered a Pixel 2 XL from Google. As a heads up, it seems that despite their policy, they are happy to refund the difference between the listed price and the CPW deal on delivery provided that you message them before ordering to get it in writing, send a screenshot of the deal after...

    U11+

Debit card payment, but chargeback shouldn't be too challenging considering it's a blatant breach of the contract (and thus the law). Have now tried all avenues (Digital River support, HTC support, tried arranging a call with the returns/repair department based in Poland without a reply) so...

    U11+

Might be somewhat surprising that I'm posting this, but after my support experience with HTC today they deserve to fail in any way they can. I previously though that Gboard had a software issue (visual artifacts) while swiping on occasion, but I can confirm this is a hardware issue. The display...

Shame with the Mate 10 (Pro) seeing as on paper it's a great device. I wasn't convinced that Huawei was capable of getting the software right, though they are the only manufacturer (bar Google) implementing Treble on older devices. As usual, reviews fail to portray the actual ownership...

    U11+

For reference I (and many others) have had no problems whatsoever. Best battery life I've ever had from a phone (see previous post, of course extrapolating for mobile network battery usage).

@Mylestheone How are you finding the Mate 10 Pro in terms of software? Little in it in terms of hardware so the software was the make or break point for me (that and the IPS display in the U11+). Wish I could provide further assistance with the battery issues!

25% from the previous statistics I gave you. I've just had a peak at the thread. What applications/launchers/widgets are you using that could be culprits? I'm using a fairly barebones configuration (Nova Launcher) with the only app actively using location services being Google.

Combination of both, but primarily Wi-Fi. Also a mixture of around 30 minutes of Waze in there too. In short, the battery life is, for me at least with my usage, absolutely fantastic.

UK U11+ on Three here. How the battery statistics currently sit: 20% charge 2d 1h 54m since last charge 5h 55m screen-on time Genuine 2.5 day phone for me. That said, the two gripes at the minute are the lack of latest security patch and lack of VoLTE. Otherwise excellent.

    OnePlus 5T or HTC U11+

EDIT: Just tidied up my words on the display. In short, I believe that GSMArena's review did not measure the maximum brightness under intense light. Just had my U11+ turn up. Not going to give a software overview seeing that it is effectively stock Android. So merely hardware observations...

    OnePlus 5T or HTC U11+

@benparker Follow the link I posted, register using your email address, then log in via 'HTC Club Member Sign In'. Can't miss it after that. U11+ has not sold out yet (perhaps they don't have a limit but I doubt they'd have sold too many units, seems to be a very quiet release unfortunately).

    OnePlus 5T or HTC U11+

@benparker As those above, from HTC themselves (linking as I don't think this classes as competition for OcUK: https://www.htc.com/uk/newsletter/) at £629. Steal at that price to be honest. Today is the last day of the offer so I'd hurry! I've had a quick scout around at the other offerings...

    OnePlus 5T or HTC U11+

Pre-ordered the HTC U11+ for a number of reasons. Sense UI is a pretty barebones Android overlay, use Nova Launcher and you pretty much have a stock Android device. Same applies for the OnePlus 5T, but on the wrong version of Android. This rules out the likes of Samsung, Huawei etc...

    Linux with RAID installations.

Actual RAID implementations aren't standardised; in practice the only parts that are standardised are the functionalities of each level. No idea of the capabilities of your board, nor how to setup RAID arrays in Windows (can you do so on installation?), however I'm guessing that the SATA...

    Red Hat Satellite 6 question

Just to be clear, virt-manager is also known as Virtual Machine Manager, the GUI you'd usually use to manage libvirt. I'd use virt-manager to view the display (via SPICE) of the virtual machine to see what it is doing, as well as look at the VM devices. You may need to create a new bootstrap...

    Red Hat Satellite 6 question

Don't have a huge amount of time now and the suggestions I'm providing will be blind as I don't have a Foreman/Katello/Satellite 6 setup accessible to me, however: Are you provisioning the virtual machine as if it were bare metal (i.e. creating the virtual machine manually on the VM host and...

IOMMU/PCI Passthrough to Windows with KVM

The only reason that unRAID is the platform of choice is because of LTT. In this scenario it isn't suitable, nor does it make sense most of the time. The real challenge is ensuring compatibility with hardware. Once that's sussed out, setting up the virtual machine is straightforward. Pick a...

    ntfs and ZFS question

It should be, however prior to running the migration you may want to set the following pool properties: Set 'xattr=sa' to store extended attributes in inodes rather than hidden files; this should improve performance however I'm unsure whether there may be a negative impact in terms of...

Converting raw to qcow2 - KVM

Little late but there is no need to undefine the virtual machine, could just run virsh edit <VM> and change the corresponding disk entry :)
