It feels like yesterday that I saw my first deepfake and thought it looked terrible and obviously fake. Now you have to look pretty closely to spot that it's fake. It feels like it won't be long before deepfakes are indistinguishable from real video. At that point, it'll be an arms race...

That's pretty much how it played out in the book, although I think Fred's stroke-out death was actually in a later fight in the next book. But yeah, they did the best they could, it's just unfortunate that it still feels a bit abrupt because of how they had to edit it in after filming had finished.
