Thanks for all the replies. The 5 door thing is absolutely a secondary consideration but it is a convenience thing when picking/dropping people and if I'm not losing out elsewhere on the car then I would prefer it.
Some great options there - will have a look round and see. Thanks!
Essentially!
I don't drink so the designated driver duty is frequent enough to warrant a 5 door unless I'm losing out on getting a better 3 door.
8 grand on a Mondeo might be silly but I made my knowledge of cars clear in the OP ;) I'm all ears on alternatives

Is it worth paying the extra and going for something like http://www.usedcarsni.com/2010-Ford-Mondeo-ZETEC-125-TDCI-112583111

The Rover at 800 quid was my first car and has done me well but I feel like I'm well overdue an upgrade.
I have 6-7k to spend but can stretch that for something special. I'm not looking to start a family or anything soon and would like something that's a pleasure to drive and doesn't take an...
I've been in sort of a similar situation recently in that my dad passed away last month and my mum passed away at christmas time.
We are in the process of selling the house (I lived with my mum and still live in it) and I'd recommend you do the same. It takes out any potential issues in the...
My dad had a heart attack 3 weeks ago. He complained of chest pains but his neighbour and him decided to hang about a bit to see if it'd go away. He was a nightmare when it came to hospitals and doctors so I'd imagine he was dragged kicking and screaming when they eventually went. He died on...
I think for all practical purposes we have free will in the sense that we're the agent that makes a decision but in absolute terms the particular choice was always going to be made. Or I could have just agreed with whoever has said it's an illusion
I'm obviously in the minority here but charities are having to resort to those methods because the general public don't give enough and the donations are dropping every year. Direct debits also allow for charities to plan for schemes rather than having to cancel stuff (at a further cost) because...
Ehrmann probably makes a good case for the existence for Jesus, much like he does for pointing out the inconsistencies in the Bible. I haven't seen what evidence he presents for the case and, as I said before, it doesn't interest me much whether Jesus did exist or not; much like Socrates or...
You're mistaken and there isn't good evidence for the resurrection - where are you getting this from?
Also, Socrates might not have existed but it doesn't matter either way because we evaluate his words independently of his existence. If Jesus existed, it doesn't make his teachings any more...
My Religious Education teacher put me off religion. I asked awkward questions out of genuine curiousity as I tried to gain an understanding in something that I wasn't really exposed to as a child and he couldn't answer, usually resorting to ridiculing me in front of the class at the same time :D...
I thought it was for herself and this immediately came to mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIfOjkB17BA
But then I see it's to protect old men - double standards all the way :D
In all seriousness it's ridiculous and an insult.
