    Processor Trouble?

I read the manual - in BIOS the default graphics device is PCIe. Is there any way to change this without having to use a PCIe graphics card temporarily? Edit: I tested it with a 500W PSU, made no difference.

Don't seem to be any jumpers. Yeah it's a new build, never worked.

Power supply seems fine - what do I check? USB power is working. Using Intel onboard graphics.

    Q9450 hot!

Despite being an obvious suggestion, platinum87, that seems to have done the trick. I now get 60c at 100% for about 40 secs, then it drops in only a few seconds to ~27c. Thanks though for putting it so bluntly, I really don't like the whole push pin design.

    Q9450 hot!

BIOS reports a CPU temp of 85c! Also, I started SpeedFan just after booting and it reported 100c on Core #3... It seems unfair that (at least in my setup) the stock cooler is inadequate... I don't want to have to upgrade. I just can't think of anything else which would cool the CPU better...

    Q9450 hot!

Just set up my new PC and noticed (using SpeedFan) I'm getting CPU temps of ~50c idle and upwards of 80c under load (calculating PI), core temps are about 20c higher (Core #2 never seems to drop below 72). I'm using the stock cooler, but after placing it I had to remove it to get my power...

    Apevia X-QPack2 - Cooling?

Ok, thanks. I heard Apevia made some considerable improvements for the X-QPack2, but it sounds like it would still not have enough cooling.

    Apevia X-QPack2 - Cooling?

Thanks for the advice. Those cases are nice, but I was looking for something a little more... economical (and light). I'm currently looking at the Coolermaster Elite 340.

    Apevia X-QPack2 - Cooling?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-004-OK Reviewed here I'm looking for a micro ATX case 'cause I need to be able to carry my computer around. It doesn't have to be as small as this one but I was wondering if the cooling on the X-QPack2 would be sufficient for: Core...

    Dual channel vs single?

I'm planning to upgrade to a system with a Q9450, but I want to keep WinXP (32-bit) for now. This means I can only have < 2-3GB RAM, right? Well, that's fine for now, but in the future (say a year or two) I'm likely to upgrade to Vista-64. The motherboard will support up to 8GB (4 slots). So...
