No issues with different monitor resolutions and I can confirm a 780 to 1080 upgrade is massive. I run a 43" 4k and a pair of old (but still rather good) Dell 2007FP at 1600x1200 with no issues on a single 1080. If you run Windows 10 just remember to disable Windows Snap as it is a right PITA...

Thanks for getting back to me, I apologise for my ignorance but what use is resetting the CMOS? I will check the other settings but im pretty sure its already set to disable multi monitor
