Third sensible answer coming up..... agreeing with earlier suggestion...... get washable pillows that replump when you wash them. Job done!

    Sleeping on the floor.

Floor doesn't follow the natural shape of your spine - so no, not good. Feel dreadful in the morning too!

new bed ( memory foam question)

We have a pocket sprung mattress / divan with this mattress topper on top and it's absolutely heavenly. That said, I would really like a super kingsize bed (ours is now getting on for 12 years old and when you remove the topper you can see where the mattress sags a bit!). Haven't quite got my...

new bed ( memory foam question)

Memory foam is heat sensitive so it wouldn't do the memory foam any good.

    Cat/Kitten Owners and allergy sufferers

I am allergic to cats. I did, however, grow up with a Russian blue as a pet. He was a lovely cat! My mum was always very good at trying to make sure there were as few cat hairs around the place as possible. I find they don't always make me sneeze so I can stroke a cat (although it isn't my...

    Pillows

I think duck pillows make great under-pillows as offer lots of support. But nothing beats laying your head on a lovely soft goose down pillow! I'd recommend these pillows from the fine bedding company.

Where can I find this Green Duvet Cover? Anyone know please?

Here's a green striped duvet cover. Not quite the same as the one you mention, but pretty close! I actually think this blue striped duvet cover is more fun though.

    Long Haul flight tips...

I'd take a neck support pillow - maybe something inflatable would be better to carry onto the plane (though not as supportive!). I hate the fact that I can't get comfortable when I try and sleep so this is what I would do if I was going to fly long-haul.

WoW It Was Hot Last Night

Right - that's done it - now it can't stop raining! My OH keeps going on about how we desperately need air-con (what for a couple of nights each year?!*!!? seems a bit excessive to me). Just ordered a cotton duvet from here and hoping that is going to help us sleep like babies through these...

    Mattress suggestions

Maybe spend the £80 on a firm mattress to act as a good base and then choose a mattress topper to suit your requirements. I'd recommend this mattress topper as lovely and soft and provides a really comfy night's sleep! I've heard that memory foam is a bit hot to sleep on/in!

    Spec me a matress

Maybe you should get a really good supportive firm mattress for your parents. We have a Relyon and that's pretty good. But don't older people like to sleep on lovely soft mattress toppers (like these) as nicer on their joints etc?

    Hungarian Goose Down Duvets

I know what you mean. Pretty disgusting to look at. I use these cotton pillow protectors to stop our pillows discolouring. I've never noticed the yellowing on our own duvet, but have done on our sons - but presumed that was from when he wets the bed!! I have to wash his duvet relatively frequently!

    Hungarian Goose Down Duvets

Depends on the brand really. Go with a brand you trust. I recently heard of a manufacturer selling duck down duvets as Hungarian down duvets!!! We have this Hungarian down duvet which does have a small percentage of feathers I believe (not that I can feel any feathers / quills or anything!!)...

Spec me a series to watch

Out of interest, was The Wire the best thing you have ever watched on TV? Loads of people have said this but I struggled through the first few episodes and then gave up.

    Electric Blankets

Yep, I agree with Vesta Man, can't say it would cross my mind to buy an electric blanket. But have to admit I've never actually tried one, so maybe once you have - you never look back ?? What you need is a nice warm, breathable down duvet, surely?! That way you'll be nice and warm...

    Does anyone employ a cleaner?

Absolutely - she's a real star, really reliable and cleans our house and does the ironing for 3 hours every week - never misses. She has the keys and lets herself in if no-one around.
