It has been a good long while since I last posted here. I have an MSI 3090 Gaming Trio X which is OC as standard. I had the odd crash in ACV, maybe one every 3 or 4 hours until I got to a particular area in the "Storming the walls" mission and a fight with Fulke in particular as I was leaving...
Neither am I! It may be a different problem of course but it sounds very similar.
Just for completeness I'm not running an Overclock of the Titan at all.
I very much doubt this is hardware because nothing else has locked up or crashed but there could be something FC4 does that just...
I have had complete lock ups requiring a reboot with Far Cry 4 ever since I installed the Titan X. My youngest son now has my Titan and has no problem at all and we have played FC4 together in CO-OP when the lock ups have often occurred. The lockups happen randomly, sometimes after maybe 20mins...
Somewhat worrying.
I put a Titan X in on Thursday last week. I had my first lockup in a very long time indeed last night. It was in Farcry 4 although it was during gameplay. I haven't had lock-ups in anything else so far and I put it down to either bad luck or the graphics driver.
As I've mentioned somewhere or other I downclocked the card to stock speeds , well 782 on the GPU and that was all. It seemed fine but then I tried the Tropics Demo after seeing some possibly flickering textures in COD Blackops. It got to the dark hut scene and my system locked. Sending the card...
Palit Sonic at 782/4008 downclocked.
FFXIV Benchmark @ 1920
Sorry can't supply screeny, I clicked on the screen at the end and it closed down.. Too late for another run..
I did notice a score of 5999 (I'm about 99% sure of this) and a load time of about 13200 or so..
During the run I...
Wow.. Only checked the thread this morning.. been a fair bit of news since then!
I've been running at 782/2004(4008) since the issue last night (small oc). The volts are strange really. When I reboot with the profile I have set in the startup the volts should be about 1024 but looking right...
Well yes and no jigger. This is the type of issue I've always come across. Many things work... but one game/app doesn't or crashes a lot... So you downclock and it works. Once you downclock you tend to find that those "odd" crashes you got in other games/apps vanish too. Downclocking fixed...
You might be correct Raven but it isn't just Kombuster that works fine for fairly long periods. Heaven benchmark seems ok too and so does all the other JC2 benchmarks. The concrete jungle benchmark pushes the card, and I'm guessing, pushes the card in the wrong places.
As I mentioned I've had...
Currently I'm leaning towards keeping it. I suspect I won't get anything better without a huge amount of luck. The concrete jungle benchmark is currently the only thing I've noticed that actually kills the card. Kombustor which should in theory kill a poorly OC'd card seems to run quite happily...
Yes I agree. Pretty ambitious of Palit to leave to leave the voltage at stock and do a significant OC.
I might have a go at some point but just haven't got the time at the moment to do all the testing that needs to be done to prove stability.
I suppose it should be of no surprise to me personally that I have bought yet another factory OC card that doesn't really work at factory OC levels.... I am, however, surprised at my own stupidity!
Initially (tonight) the card worked perfectly at 835/2100. I tried Kombustor which worked with no...
Having tested many systems over the years with Prime95 I can say that without a doubt a system failing Prime95 within a 24hr period will probably crash at some point or other.
As an example I had a system which crashed at odd times, maybe once or twice per week when running games. A near...
I recently built a new main system with the i980x CPU. I initially went with the Megahelems for cooling the CPU but decided to try the H50-1. The H50-1 is not as good as the Megahelems (where the fans are exhausting) but it fits in the system a LOT better and I've stuck with it.
I posted more...
Mine didn't! Crucial's "immediate resolution" is an RMA number. I bought my own "advance replacement" from OC yesterday. Thankfully it works but given the problems I'm NOT updating it.
I posted about this here...
Had my drive about 4 days. Installed Windows & other. 68gb used. My write speed on Seq is 91.30mb! Looks like I have the issue already. I've noticed the firmware is supposed to be out tomorrow. Glad I spotted this thread! My read speed on Seq is 349.27mb/s (similar to yours).
EDIT:
I ran the...
I think that say 20x150mhz bus (3ghz) is the same as 30x100mhz bus (3ghz) for the CPU itself but you might not be able to balance other factors appropriately using the DRAM and QPI multipliers. So one would probably be greater than the other in the end by a considerable amount in some cases. As...
