OK, he's decided on Elementalist so I shall be playing a Guardian. :) I'm assuming that I'll need to stack vitality and toughness if I want to be a human shield?

We had one use our bird box during the winter so I'm hoping it chooses to come back and use it as a nest site.

I think I'm leaning towards Guardian now anyway. It really depends on what the others choose. The guy I think is going to play elementalist hasn't completely decided yet - there's a small chance he might pick a warrior in which case I'd go mesmer instead.

Would a group with thief/elementalist/mesmer work? Would we not need something a bit tankish?

I don't think I have a set play style. When I played WoW, I've been a shaman, a mage and a warrior at different points. Ultimately, I want to play something that assists the group. I suspect with thief and elementalist we'll have melee and ranged DPS so it might be better to take a support...
