    Fan layout

As opposed to one 80mm fan on it's own, would having two 80mm fans with one in front of the other imropove airflow, impede airflow or make no difference compared with the single fan? (80mm as i have a few of those lying around, but no 120mm) The back of my case is a bit close to the wall...

Xbox 360 - is a hard drive THAT much better?

It won't let me use the code anymore, possibly because i went to the checkout to verify that it would work but then cancelled the order.. Trying to use a different email doesn't work as it's my address that it checks against which, as it also uses that as my billing address, i can't change...

Xbox 360 - is a hard drive THAT much better?

Thanks for all the quick replies. I'll go for the 60GB Premium. Unfortunately the £30-off deal was only for new customers, and because i signed up ot the site last night to double-check if the promotional code really worked I now can't use it  I'm looking forward to using it as...

Xbox 360 - is a hard drive THAT much better?

I already own a wired controller that I use for my PC, and a mate will be giving me her copy of Lego Indiana Jones (should i want it). Basically, my options (after searching for the best deals) are: £100 - Xbox Arcade (no bundle - also no headset or composite HD cable) £140 - Xbox 60GB...

Xbox 360 Extended Warranty worth it?

I'm looking at getting an Xbox 360, but wasn't sure whether or not £30 for an additional 2years warranty (no accidental damage) was worth it. I was looking at the 60GB Premium (can get it on it's own, without games, for £140; I don't need a 2nd wireless controller as already I have one for my...

playing San Andreas while i wait for GTA IV on pc, but one thing's annoying me: Is there a way to turn off the Slow Motion feature when I do stunts? Searched Google and all i can find are cheats on constant slow motion or fast motion.. no consant normal motion. It's cool on a rare...

    Dell "Fake" Battery Replacement

I've been getting the "Your battery is reaching the end of its usable life" message. My sister has an inspiron 6000 that's about 6months older than my 9400 and uses the exact same battery, but she has yet to get this message even though she uses the battery all the time. Could the fact...

    Dell "Fake" Battery Replacement

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 and rarely use the battery, instead using the laptop as a desktop replacement and having it plugged in all the time. For those of you who haven't used a Dell Inspiron laptop, here is a picture of the underneath: Dell 9400 Base Dell 6000 base (easier to see)...

    Kitchen flooding from above flat

Our building was built by very intelligent people who decided that there should only be one stop-valve for the water for the entire building, and this can only be used by the water board as it requires a special tool. Probably the architect.

    Kitchen flooding from above flat

excellent, they did just that.. the new owners have a tiler coming sometime this morning so he'll have a looksee and we'll see what can be done from there.. hopefully (but doubtfully) i'll be able to get a galnce at the room that's leaking and see what the damage to their room is and what...

    Kitchen flooding from above flat

tried that.. apparently I would have to pay for the "very expensive" joiner to come and break in while the police watch, which would open myself "to a possibly severe legal situation" as someone else owns the property. The estate agents just called back and confirmed that they did have that...

    Kitchen flooding from above flat

Well, maybe not flooding, but it's definitely more than a leak :( It's a recently bought property and the owners haven't moved in yet. Work is still getting done refurnishing the place. The ceiling doen't look to be caving, but my main concern right now is who is liable for any damage...

    Credit Card Advice

Credit cards are the easiest way to start a credit history (vital if you ever want to get a mortgage or get finance for a car etc), so it' stupid to say don't get one full stop. However, they are also the easiest way to destroy your credit rating. Used wisely, they are a LOT more secure than...

    Credit Card Advice

nope, interest is only payable on any balance left on the card after the due date. it takes about 4 working days for payments to reach credit cards, so once this time has passed call up the credit card issuer and they can cancel they card. Say you get a new 0% for 9months credit card and...

    Credit Card Advice

Hey, I work in a branch for one of the bigger banks and as such sell credit cards all the time (and hate doing it, i suck at selling  ). I used my 0% CC to buy a new laptop as it was MUCH cheaper than Dell's offer of 29%. Saved loads :D First, every time you apply for a credit...

    5,400rpm or 7,200rpm hdd for notebook/laptop/no-idea-what-the-difference-is

Me and the (soon-to-be) missus will be sleeping on a pull-out sofa in the living room while the kid gets the only bedroom and all available storage (first-time buyer :p). I had thought about a small form factor case, but i would still require a desk to put the keyboard and screen on. A laptop...

    5,400rpm or 7,200rpm hdd for notebook/laptop/no-idea-what-the-difference-is

Nattery life isn't too much of an issue. It only lasts around and hour and a half on the 9400 anyway when using it for something beyond word processing. But I'm not sure if the speed increase from 5,400 to 7,200 justifies spending an extra £100-odd on a faster hdd.

    5,400rpm or 7,200rpm hdd for notebook/laptop/no-idea-what-the-difference-is

I'm thinking of buying a laptop, as the new flat I'm moving into is butt-clenchingly small, but want a desktop replacement as opposed to portable fun.. I'm quite interested in the Dell Inspiron 9400 that OcUK's selling for £1,200, the only problem being that it has an 80GB hdd.. Do those of...
