We have dosed the tank with Esha and will continue with that to see if he improves but have since tried with Esha, Aquarium salt, Melafix and nothing has worked.
He has now stopped eating entirely and has barely been eating before that though, he also looks very thin has lost a lot of his colour and his fins have gone very tatty. I have never overfed him only feeding one or two pellets daily and even blood worms we feed with tweezers so as not to over do it.
I got my male Betta last August from one of my local fish stores, I had noticed him starting to act a lot less active and not quite himself around the start of this year " January " he was laying on the bottom of the tank more and just generally sluggish.
I contacted the fish store in my town...
With regards to earlier posts things are starting to improve all the time between my male cat and new female kitten.
However we are now almost certain this mounting behaviour he is displaying with the kitten is sexual agression as we decided to check if he was becoming aroused after an episode...
Thanks for this but we have gone with the friends one because we do feel the issue lies more with them getting along and him accepting her without feeling the need to be so overly dominant, it maybe is a bit territorial but at the same time she will get into his stuff and his food bowl without...
Vet said try feliway friends so it's we've now ordered it. Seem to suggest like everyone said it's normal and will sort itself out and if doesn't get better still with feliway get microchip catflap and let him be indoor/outdoor.
Yes she was squealing and did run off when he let go so hence we know it wasn't just play. If it doesn't get any better with him we don't know what we'll do as we really do not want to give her up and eventually we are going to have to leave them alone together because it's not fair to her to...
Thanks for your input, would you recommend feliway over anything else as we are currently using pet remedy which doesn't seem to be doing much. We interfered just because we were scared he was hurting the kitten, we are going to the vets today as she's due her second vaccinations so we will ask...
Yet another sneak attack this morning but first time it's actually been nasty in that older cat was kicking at kitten with back legs and making lots of noise, so Carl actually scruffed him to let him know that's not ok.
We are now considering the possibility of making the older cat indoor...
We had a woman come to college and give us a talk on bee keeping (I'm doing animal care).
Most people found it pretty boring and the woman was odd to say the least and didn't really want us to look at her bee keeping equipment.
I get why people would want to do it and it is a massive help to...
Hi pike is my partner yes we did just put them in together as we were told to do this by the rescue. This behaviour as seen in the videos is not constant he will go up to her and be friendly and half the time he will just ignore or lay there watching her, but then just out of nowhere does this...
Oh right ok, I have a welcome day to attend next Friday and my induction is in August. Currently waiting on the financial forms to be sent which i'm dreading as filling in forms isn't my strong point. Good luck with your course and your exam results :)
Hi I will be starting college in September doing a level 2 course in Animal care, its something I have always wanted to do and now at 29 I am finally deciding to do it. What is the Summer School you had to attend and what did you do there?
The cattery we are using we have heard is very good and Carl (pike) knows someone who works there that we can contact if needs be. He is only going to be 13 weeks when were away so to young to be neutered, will be taking his blanket and some toys. He gets his second shots on the 2nd of July so...
Can so relate to this and its for the same reason I don't want our Mully going out when we get him. We have a small shopping centre a short distance from our house and it has a busy road running along side it if he got on to there he could easily be hit.
