Thank you for posting this - I've had exactly the same problem and I'll try that tonight.

    VGA monitor to dvi-d

The suffix letter after DVI indicates what signals the DVI carries. DVI-D only has digital pins, DVI-A (which doesn't really exist) would have only analogue pins, DVI-I has both digital and analogue pins. VGA is an analogue signal, so you can't use a VGA monitor without a video output with...

    New Type of Bike Lock

My worry is that it looks like a cheap cable lock, and that it will provoke attacks by opportune bike thieves, who will damage the pretty outer layer with bolt cutters or an angle grinder. A robust enough looking D-lock should persuade the thieves to try elsewhere... Has anyone seen any good...

Can GD do basic MathS? :p

    Isn't it 12.75 4 bananas = 3, so three bananas = 2.25 Apple = 10 2 coconut halves = 1, so one coconut half = 0.5 Edit - Nope, it seems I can't do basic maths as I seem to think that 10 + 3 + 3 = 18. I'll hang my head in shame.

I'm using a Kenu airframe+ - even slightly off to one side to avoid pressing the buttons, it's a very firm hold. They're great pieces of kit.

Isn't the safest bet just to buy the ones from Google on their store?

Does anyone still find themselves looking at the end of the USB C connector as if to check you have it the right way round before you plug it in? I know it's not necessary, but it seems deeply ingrained.

There seems to be a lot of variation between different phones. Having set up the second one to get round my mis-aligned glass coating problem, the newer phone has a weaker feeling vibration (but makes a louder humming sound when vibrating), a screen colour tint that's a little greener, but also...

Mine has an annoying problem on the screen. There's some sort of coating on the glass (oleophobic perhaps), and it's not been lined up correctly at the top. This means there's a patch around the earpiece speaker and a line along each of the top and right edges of the phone which doesn't have...

There don't seem to be any good USB C chargers in the UK just now. Someone posted a USB C one on [edit - it was the Ebay one below] (I think it was on here), but they're shipping from China as far as I can tell. For the minute, I'm buying a good USB A to USB C cable (the google £10.99 one with...

I'm getting one as a present and it has apparently it's being shipped, which is very exciting, but due to a credit card mixup, apparently there are in fact two en route (both charged to the card). Am I best rejecting one at delivery, or accepting both and then negotiating a distance sellers return?

It's fairly easy to replace the battery on the Nexus 5, and it should sort out your woes while you wait for the replacement. I was very happy with the recovery in battery life when I swapped out the battery.

How old were you when you found your first grey hairs?

I had greys in my moustache area at 14. Temples greying from about 22. Still not too bad at 32. Don't worry - your life isn't over.

Shamrock, did you ever sort out your cold hand problem? Sportpursuit.com have 30seven Heated Cycling Pro Gloves (Black) at £70 (RRP apparently £160). Battery heated gloves might be the way for you ;)

Bad luck! I had something similar while riding once when my rear mech ate a carrier bag that blew across in a gust. Most annoying. Hope you get it all sorted soon.

Thanks, but they're not sapim cx rays. I'm well aware I could have got generic spokes much cheaper, but I didn't want generic spokes for my nice bike. I couldn't find the sapim's cheaper than buying in bulk on that site (in stock, that is), but I will be left with 12 of one length and 4 of the...

    Road Cycling Essentials

Yeah, the CX-rays are pretty pricey. I suspect the big wheel builders get much better rates for spokes than I can on a search online. But they look so pretty :D And bladed spokes make relieving spoke twist much easier for a novice wheel builder. Thank you! I'm fairly ham fisted most of...

Prices are per wheel as I haven't been able to start the second one yet, so you can double it for a set. Rim £55 from Bricklane Bikes (Hubjub have the anodised grey cheaper but no stock of the black, and black bits go faster) Spokes £75.98 for 40 from Singletrack Bikes (this worked out...
