Thanks, but that looks a lot like wading through treacle.
What do you know about svchost.exe?
If it's not showing in processes could that be why updates aren't working?
Every failed update has the same error as far as I can see:
code 80072EFD
I've tried the firewall fixes etc, cleaned out reg with cc cleaner and others.
I've had a couple of blue screens, the installer has stopped working. How would mem problems stop windows updating?
"I'd be inclined to run a low level diagnostic."
Such as?
Thanks.
Same problem with Bioshock 2, WL totally ruined it, unplayable. Totally unsaveable, the updates don't work either, complete disaster. £13 wasted - bugger steam I could have sold on a hard copy.
I really thought he was making a joke...
I did lose my **** yesterday, so apologies to all. I've done a fresh install of Vista and i'm hoping that does the trick, and i'm going to migrate to W7 64 in a month or two.
My system is as per my sig, and i'm running Vista 32 bit.
I'm thinking W7 64 bit is the way to go,

I realise my system is creaking a bit but I want to upgrade as cheap as possible, even though I will have cash to...
That's fine because you've been no help whatsoever.
My money is on it's a half finished POS. In fact that's not even a bet, I know it's half finished POS.
The only one ranting is you buddy.
