I have had it for I think 5 years now. Think I might just go with a normal fan and ditch the z600, don't know if I could be bothered fighting with it more as I am just fed up! :(
I'm looking at this for something that's just simple to stick in so I can be done with this upgrade...
I had a p5q deluxe motherboard.
It slots in perfect on the old motherboard, but on the new motherboard each of the corners is too far away for the screws on the heatsink.
I am in the process of upgrading my computer, where I got a new motherboard and CPU. My old computers heatsink is a cooler master z600 and my new motherboard/cpu is a p8z77-m and a i5.
I have the CPU in the motherboard and as I got to place the cooler on top of the motherboard I discover the...
I am thinking of buying an SSD- the OCZ Agility 3 60gb except I am a bit confused over the dimensions.
Are all SSD's 2.5", even for desktop PC's (which is what it will go in to)? And if so, does this mean I have to buy a drive bay mount or something for it?
Is this hard drive a good...
Hey all, I am going to be doing my first ever upgrade to my computer this weekend where I will hopefully stick in a new motherboard and cpu.
I am going to reuse my cooler master z600, so will I need thermal paste remover to do the upgrade?
Thanks in advance
For the strategists out there I can't recommend Men of War assault squad enough, its the greatest online strategy game in my opinion, I've gotten so much satisfaction from it, though the learning curve is steep!
Got an A and now am studying as a computer programmer, use a lot of what I learnt! So much for the "when will we ever need this!" talk a lot of people do :p
Battlezone. As many other old games I would say are my favourites of all time, I would be scared to remake them because part of the charm to me now are their old pixel sprites.
1680x1050 resolution, how silly of me not to say beforehand! The general advice seems to be a 560, which is what I was thinking about anyway, so thanks for reinforcing my opinion!
Thanks for the advice. It sucks the card did die, I know it still had a lot left in it :p
Since the card died prematurely, I am put off getting another big card, so maybe something around £150? I am not expecting to get this generations equivalent of the 4870x2, rather just a card that is...
My system is 4 years old now and my graphics card just died. I am looking for replacement to compliment my system, I don't think I will go for such a high end card again, but I would like to be able to play BF3 somewhere between high/ultra.
I haven't been following the latest graphics cards so...
Unfortunately I am in a family full of laptops, will have to get my hands on a friends PC tomorrow then. Thanks for the help everyone, looks like its going to be a long day of reddit for me on my laptop!
Thanks again.
Are you sure? This site suggests 1+3 is Memory Failure http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm
I don't think my motherboard has an onboard graphics card either :O
EDIT: Just found a site that also says 1+3 is "No video card or bad video RAM". What should I do?
Thanks for the tip. I have 2 sticks of ram and 4 slots, and I have tried putting each stick of ram in the computer on its own, in each of the 4 slots, still get the beep code at the start.
I am using HDMI at the minute so to try the VGA idea I'm going to have to go hunting for my cable! I...
I woke up this morning and all of a sudden my computer won't output any video. Whenever I go to turn on the computer I get 1 long beep followed by 3 short beeps, which apparently means there is a RAM failure. The computer continues to boot normally and I can hear the windows login sound.
I have...
