I just had a thought to check the original backplate to see if the caps had come off on the tape.
PCB 3
They were never there, as there are only 8 sets of indentations on the thermal tape.
Asus 3080ti Strix OC, checked on TechPowerup and both the 3080 and the 3080TI have 9 of sets of them little things....defo not on my board any more.
I'm in knee deep now so I might just crack on with the waterblock and see how it goes....
I was cleaning the back of the PCB for before placing fresh thermal tape when this happened:
PCB 1
PCB 2
I felt something give but thought nothing of it at first as I had a quick look and didn't spot anything. When fitting the thermal pad I noticed something was off (literally!) There were 9...
About to install a 35m run of network cable to share the full fibre speed from the entry point on one side of the house to the upstairs opposite side. Reading loads about shielded cables. Have no idea how to ground the cable (float) as the cable will be direct from router to pc. Will I get away...
For those of you that have them, can you post up a pic or two so we can see the setup in a normal household setting (gaming den). A bonus would be to have a game on the monitor that looks ace in wide format.
Have been sitting on the fence since stocks arrived, home isolation is making me...
You are not wrong about the weight, my setup is getting heavier and heavier. I've got a Phanteks Enthoo Primo and it weighs a tonne before any kit has been put in it! Great case tho'
Whats the MM area? Not too bothered about making much money back on them as long as they get used. Could not...
I've got a couple of surplus Cooler Master aluminium computer cases that have been gathering dust in the garage for the last few years. Are they worth anything? I would guess they will still be OK for the modding community. If not they will be going in the skip soon.
Time to report yet another PSU starting to fail! Order date 3 Oct 14. Screen started turning on when PC was off about 2/3 months ago. I started turning of the power on the extension lead but this grates me as I have a cordless mouse which charges over night on a cradle. Over the last few days...
I'm getting fiber drop-outs about 5 or 6 times a day. It's starting to really!"£$%! me off. Before the last update the event log would record the fact that the box was shutting down and pulling the internet connection. After the update (Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.204 (Type A) Last updated...
@ Drangueos,
Any chance you can give us a few pics taken from the other side to show the pump on the second loop, and a few to show how you mounted the tube rez?

AAAGAAGAHAHAHHH bangs head on table! Too late only 1 nickel left and I need 2. You guys are too quick. Placed my order anyway so I should have nabbed the last one. That is unless the entire order needs to be in to allocate stock across.
Any more info on when these are likely to hit the shelves? Have a couple of 980s that are sweating on air at the mo'. Cpu is loving the loop all on its own, never been as cool.
Could not decide between the Asus Swift and the Acer KB280HK. Was going to go for the Acer until I watched the reviews of the individual monitors done by LinusTechTips.
Decided on the Swift and chucked in a couple of basic 980s that I plan to put under water when the blocks surface.
Ordered the 3 fan bundle and it is showing as pre-order on the item page without a expected arrival date. Anyone know when this is likely to be?
Any chance that OC will send me 3 of the 10 single fans they have in stock?
I have recently wall mounted a new flat screen tv on the wall with all the cables routed in ducting behind the plasterboard for a clean install. We got a 46" sound bar (HW-F751) as part of the package and I would like to mount this under the tv and run the power lead via the same ducting behind...
