@Demon Would love to know which glass fuses they use. I used to have a good few spare fuses for my C64C that would occasionally blow.
Reminds me of the good old days paper clip resetting for Zzap64 cheat codes and then SYS code to resume.
Recommend Autoruns to examine all areas where a program could startup during boot and login, although to be mindful of not updating any more time stamps of files and folders…
I wonder what raised suspicions of snooping. You could always block apps in firewall or router. If it’s not PC based...
Hopefully the activated system images I’ve made will mean that I can restore an activated local account image and it won’t be undone by a future Windows update!
Can Splashtop and VNC be used purely LAN based within the home without having to go through third party servers / internet access (like TeamViewer) if only wanting to remote home media centre?
Sounds like you’re installing dual boot on same drive. If there’s no solution, perhaps install each OS on a separate drive and use Boot Manager option in Bios to choose which drive to boot from on start up?
@hughtrimble Thanks, I suspect the same but was curious.
I find most of my USB to SATA dock drives spin down and sleep so I guess during those times I can switch and they’d wake up once attached to the other PC.
May look into one, comes in handy when doing rebuilds and reinstalls.
Nothing it seems! After two weeks of procrastinating and various lip service emails and calls from Yodhell, they didn’t even send the driver back out to the wrong address to attempt to recover the parcel, weaving a web of contradiction from various reps. They’ll just stall with emails and calls...
Definitely still avoid Yodel if I know a company uses them.
Was expecting a parcel from abroad few weeks ago, after arriving in UK, through no choice of mine ended up being passed to Yodel.
Car turned up on the day in the street, individual got out walked to next street out of view of CCTV...
Antec 550W semi modular PSU still in use and only up until recently, a reliable Samsung SpinPoint F3 HD103SJ that still works. Only swapped not long ago to 3TB WDs.
Some screws in PC go back to / from the Lian-Li PC-60B Plus case! :D
Thanks @WJA96 - I don’t have PoE but every WiFi IP camera I’ve looked at seems to have a requirement for a third party account and monitoring via app through P2P. The reason I mention PoE was that most cameras I’ve looked at with LAN interface were PoE cameras. Anything that didn’t mention PoE...
Wasn’t sure whether to post a new thread or not - apologies.
Looking for suggestions for a true WiFi IP camera that doesn’t go through some 3rd party P2P app or server but something I can view via browser on local LAN. Don’t need remote viewing, just purely local and for now I don’t have NVR but...
Thanks. I completely agree with like for like. As much as I prefer WD, I hate that they only give out recertified drives under warranty rather than new so I was curious what other manufacturers, such as Seagate did.
