What have you done to your car today?

On Saturday. I dropped my Focus RS off at Ford. And to say I barely made it there would be an understatement. Rough on idle. Stalls every time you come to a stop (car in neutral, left foot braking). Mutiple EMS and warnings on dash. Slight whiff of electrical burning. Luckily I was only about...

    **British Armed Forces Discussion Thread**

I think they did a pretty good job to get the ship ready to sail in the timeframe they did.

    How old is your smartphone?

I've got a Pixel 6. Can't really fault it. See no need to update it any time soon.

Ukraine Invasion - Please do not post videos showing attacks/similar

I've been out the army for about 10 years and at 51, I can tell you. I'm in no fit state to be anything but a liability.

    City Fibre

My CityFibre dropped out last week. I called Zen who booked it out to CityFibre. They called me back to confirm I had an engineer booked for the following morning but they said CityFibre's repair team were pretty good and may get onto that afternoon. Turns out they were really good as it was...

    Outdoor security camera (without internet)?

You could get a cheap Synology NAS. I think you can add two cameras to Security Station before you need to pay licenses? I got a couple of Reolink cameras on Amazon for about £70.

What do you do with your home server?

I use both my two servers to catch the dust in my office. I think I've switched them on twice in the past 12 months. Just to make sure they still work. I used them as a test lab during Covid but can't think of any use for them now. My Dell R720 has 128Gb RAM and is full of SSD's. All my home...

    WBAC Values

My 2018 focus ST-Line has gone up in price since I last checked a couple of weeks ago. The RS has dropped quite a bit in the past few months though. Although the prices on Autotrader etc don't seem to have dropped much.

    City Fibre

I initially went with "Air Broadband". Utterly useless. It took 3 days to contact them. I sent their router back before it ever got connected.

Considering First Custom Loop In New Year

I binned of my custom loop when I moved my old PC into a smaller case (It became my spare PC). I just went with an AIO on the CPU and left the GPU as standard. I've still got all the stuff for water cooling but dunno if I'll get around to fitting it all back together. Even though I had more fans...

how many cases have you had ?

I've had a dozen or so over the years. I only tend to change them if the current one won't do what I want. i.e. Went from a Corsair 4000D to a 5000D last year as I wanted to install a bigger radiator. Normally some good case bargains on the OCUK clearance section.

    Home IT review....

I've got a DS1817 and I find it fine for a basic Plex server. I don't tend to transcode anything though. I've also got a couple of Dell Servers R720 and a T320. I did mess around with the T320 running TrueNAS but it was a bit of a pain compared to the Synology and I couldn't be bothered to put...
