Yes, lots and lots. I haven't used it for gaming for a long time and I've become very slack with cleaning.

It's a Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 Micro-ATX. It just seems strange that this has never happened before. It's been in the room for about 4 years

    Loud popping noises from PC

Hi. A couple of times today my PC made a loud "popping" noise from inside the case. These happened maybe a couple of hours apart. The computer appeared to keep working, but after the second pop I shut it down and I haven't turned it on again since. It was only idling with a couple of chrome...

Need a CPU cooler for parents 1151 machine

Hello all, I'm currently giving a few old parts to my parents modest G550 machine to improve it a bit. So far I have replaced the generic PSU with a BeQuiet unit I used for a while. I'm also planning on donating a better case fan and my old SSD. The main culprit for this relatively noisy...

Grounding self when build machines - double check

Hi all, Building a new machine soon and just wanted to double check my planned precautions for avoiding damage from static when handling components. 1) Plug PSU into wall socket. 2) Turn wall socket OFF. 3) Turn PSU switch OFF. 4) Insert paper clip into ground pins of a molex connector...

Running higher-rated RAM at stock speed?

Hi, If I have a 2666MHz DDR4 kit, would it run at 2133MHz by default in an Asus Z170M-Plus motherboard, or would it overclock automatically by default? I'm not sure I want to go down the overclocking route just yet but want the option later.

Cleaning off old thermal paste - what kind of coffee filter?

As title says, everyone seems to suggest that coffee filters make for a good lint-free cleaning cloth. Should I buy bleached or unbleached? Ta.

Need a replacement for my Logitech G400

Hi all, My G400's scroll wheel has become a little 'off' now so it's been resigned to my desk at work. I've been very happy with both the MX518 and the G400 and I'm looking for something similar to replace it. Larger sized gaming mouse please, budget £50 or less. As far as extra buttons...

Does RAM version matter? - Qualified Vendors List

I'm looking at getting some Corsair DDR4 2400/2666 and am looking at ASUS' QVL. The Corsair RAM specifies a version, but no sellers seem to list the version number. What to do? Does it matter? Will different versions of the same product still work?

I guess I'm worried about having enough GPU power to push those extra pixels. Budget is dictating something like a gtx 960.

Spec me a new 1080p monitor

Hi, I'm after a new monitor to replace my old 2209WA, which I have been very pleased with. 1080p is enough for me, at 23"-24". 60Hz is also fine. It's for general web surfing, some coding and also playing mostly single player games like Skyrim, Fallout, Company of Heroes, Tomb Raider etc...

Seasonic X 650 a good PSU for a Skylake build?

See my thread here regarding over temperature protection. I contacted EVGA (28th Dec.) to see if they could confirm/deny but I have yet to receive a response. So I'd rather play it safe and buy something which definitely has OTP.

Seasonic X 650 a good PSU for a Skylake build?

As title says, is the X 650 a good bet for a new Skylake build? I like the idea of the semi-passive mode and the reviews seem to be good? Also seems to be Haswell ready etc regarding power states. Please no suggestions for EVGA's Seasonic units.
