    Spec me a CCTV System

Maybe, I don't know what the answer is. But it totally sucks for those that rely on the tools that are nicked. Makes me feel sick to my stomach every time I hear about a local small business have all their expensive gear nicked. It's part of the reason why I said **** it and dropped a few...

Not massively fast tbh, it's a residential street with a 30mph speed limit. At a frame rate of 25fps though, I think a vehicle would have to be travelling over 200mph to miss 1/25 second frame. over a distance of about 12ft in the picture (it is at full zoom). Even at 100mph I recon at 1/10,000s...

Hopefully. There's so much house renovations going on around where I based (London), there's tradespeople and vans constantly coming and going on the surrounding streets. We've had loads of van break ins recently. There's definitely groups that target certain vans they know they can get into...

    Spec me a CCTV System

A neighbour had a tradesperson around a few weeks ago and their van was broken into in the middle of the day while in the neighbours house. Managed to catch the thieves plate (and even face) as they drove off using this new setup. Got the info shared pretty quick via the local What'sApp group...

Just had a firetruck go by and the back lit up like a Christmas tree! :D

    Spec me a CCTV System

Yeah, it's only a 30mph street, but capture is still great. Shutter speed is set to 1/10,000 (hence why the car itself is so dark), but haven't had a shot yet of a plate that isn't clear. That speed works great in daylight, and great on the plates at night with IR near light set to 40/100 and...

Which model is the 4k one you're looking at? I think the one I posted was about $250 shipped from Hong Kong (EMPIRETECANDY). I saw there were some new ones out, but they were a fair bit bigger and more like $450 The one I got I wrapped in some camo tape and put in a tree and you can barely...

IPC-B5442E-Z4E I got one of those as a dedicated licence plate cam. Set the exposure to very fast and the IR will light up the plate making it very clear.

Do Air Tags count as "Is the car fitted with a tracking device?" when getting car insurance renewals?

You can remove the speaker to stop it chirping, making it harder for the thieve to find. I think it takes 8-24 hours to kick in too, which may be enough time for you to track it down before they're notified.

Do Air Tags count as "Is the car fitted with a tracking device?" when getting car insurance renewals?

I've just checked - and no  lol, I guess the car isn't stealable enough anyway. Well, there goes that idea to try and get the price a bit more reasonable!

Do Air Tags count as "Is the car fitted with a tracking device?" when getting car insurance renewals?

Hmm, just had a look at Halfords and it seems you can get GPS trackers you connect to your battery for £65, with a £25 a year subscription. Seems like a pretty easy upgrade these days, although super easy for a thief to find and rip out compared to multiple Airtags.

And a GPS tracker is only useful if it's able to get a GPS lock...

Do Air Tags count as "Is the car fitted with a tracking device?" when getting car insurance renewals?

Just renewing a family members car insurance and it's doubled, even with using compare the market and confused.com One of the questions is "Is the car fitted with a tracking device?", if we've concealed one or two of these in the car, can we say 'Yes' to this questions?

Bad Trip (2021) - Eric Andre movie featuring public interactions kind of like Borat

I've never been a massive fan of Eric Andre's stuff, thinking some of it is a bit over the top based on his Eric Andre Show content. But I gave this ago after reading it was sort of like Borat in the sense that it's a fictional narrative but using orchestrated scenes with hidden cameras that...

Same mate, same. I've been trying to explain to mine how to figure out the difference between Edge, 3G and 4G on her phone so she can figure out if the internet should be working or not for at least a decade now, and she still asks me 'How do I check?' Like, bruh....

Chap on reddit who repairs networking kit says some of the chips they're using aren't reliable enough for the price of the kit they're being installed in. He's seeing a lot of failures on a $5 chip in an $1800 device. He says for a few extra bucks a more reliable automotive grade one could have...

That's funny that they're charging for an extended warranty that only goes to 5 years. Does no one build anything made to last anymore? Apparently you have up to 6 years to make a claim for repair or replacement in the UK...
