Already on catalyst 12.8 Did a bit more googling and disabling HDR (required a game restart to apply properly) seems to have done the trick. Disabling spangly graphics effects goes against the grain though! :p EDIT: And now it's fine with HDR turned on again. Funny old things, PC games.
