Nice one Biffa - splashing the plastic again I see.
Looks like the bands getting back together - you, berserker and myself.
I didn't get any WU for this challenge so have done 175,000 LHC, MW@H and E@H instead :)
Oh for the old days of multiple seti-queues feeding into other seti-queues to...
I'm baaaaack !!
Resurrected accounts for MW@Home (WU :D) and Leiden Classical (no WU :() on Ryzen 1800X @ 4GHz - might need to look into something for Vega to chew on too.
TJC
bios switch between primary/secondary bios - I think you can only flash the primary one so the secondary is always available to go back to if you get a bad flash.
Different bios's have different power/clock/boost/voltage levels set.
K - I'll update my various bench scores sometime soon when I have some time as whilst the GHz numbers were rubbish on the launch 17.8.1.beta6 drivers the scores obtained are good but it would be good to get the correct numbers shown.
Sorry about that ;)
I had black lines at the top bottom of the screen that it didnt fill so I presume that it was running in x1400 res.
Did you get the entire screen going red on pressing "run" for 2-3s - I think I had about 16GB of HBCC enabled but it did it without it too ??
I wasn't allowed to submit a 3440x1440 run because the bench misreads the res (like on yours) as 3440x1400 - I also got a red splashscreen when I tried it on that res too.
But as it was also not overclocked then the score was rubbish :D

Heretic!!
I think I read somewhere you can remove the shroud without removing any warranty-void screws (but not all manufacturers might be the same) - the RED might just be a piece of RED plastic and you could change it to something BLUE instead. But it could be some RED LED' too :(
Maybe...
Yes two cables should be used from separate outputs on the PSU.
People also need to check the PSU specs (often shown on the sticker on the PSU or on its box/manual) as some PSU's can deliver sufficient current (Amps) only on different rails and hence the card should be spread across 2 or more...
Decided to leave it since only real upgrade is DDR4-2666 to DDR3-3200 as the higher speed ones are not really supported/easy and its a lot of beans right now for limited benefit.
Might try to get 4.1+ out the the chip sometime with the newer bios releases might have improved things on that...
But vega can be well ahead on graphics, well ahead on physics but score only 1/2 the others on combined and hence the overall score is slugged. Something is slugging it and I can only presume slightly higher CPU Hz/IPC over a small number of cores.
Will have to spend £400-500 to get some faster ram so might think about that but there is no fighting against an extra 8c/8t on top of what I have short of spending another £1400 or so which I don't want to spend right now.
Yes, you look like you could do with a cpu/mobo/ram upgrade - more than...
I doubt its going to be possible as his ryzen is 50MHz faster than mine and his DDR4-3200 is faster than my DDR4-2666 so the HBCC cache will be boosted too - my Vega might be running faster but the ryzen bits and ram speds takes it into the lead.
I cannot even claim he's running an unreleased...
