Yeah that's probably true. I haven't heard the KEF LS50 actives, I would be curious to see what they are like.
I suspect part of the problem is it being increasingly standard for folks these days to have active monitors on their desk as an all-purpose speaker, quite close (~2ft) to the...
I've never had a set of active nearfields that didn't have low level tweeter hiss tbh - the Mackie, Yamaha, Dynaudio and Genelecs I have had in the studio all exhibit this to some degree. I've been using the same set of Genelec 8040a for the past decade though, so I'm not exactly up to speed...
I wish I could see this monitor in person, or any decent high refresh 1440p display tbh. I'm so intrigued by how the high refresh rate performs but not sure about the ppi.
I'm currently using a 4K LG 27UK650 and I've been a MacBook Pro user for years, so having become used to 'retina style'...
Such a nice board
I've seen some folks mention an aluminium case on these but all I've seen for sale is plastic.. is it indeed plastic and does it flex?
Excellent! I'm considering one of these too.. did you receive the Version 2? I'm only just starting to research the differences and assume that all of them are V2 these days but noticed that sometimes updates to the UK/ISO variants lag behind the US/ANSI equivalents..
Up until recently I used an MX Master 2S for a couple of years and prior to that, an MX Master. Since I took up PC gaming again I bought a Logitech G703 on the high street for £64.99 and I couldn't be happier with it. Not just for gaming though - I now use it for everything - coding, browsing...
Oh yeah no problem! It is a minor issue at the end of the day but as an engineer, automated testing is an integral part of my job so it just riles me a bit to see it be done badly haha :)
I used Ukelele on Mac and Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator on Windows to create keyboard layouts with the...
Yeah, I have been using one across my Mac and Windows systems for a few weeks now. The height is definitely noticeable/a bit weird but for some reason it doesn't result in any strain even though I don't use a wrist wrest and my previous keyboard was the Magic Keyboard which is the polar opposite...
I don't think you can upgrade the HDD yourself on the current or previous generation iMac.. I mean - technically, yes you can do it by taking the glass off the front etc. but as Apple do not consider the HDD a user upgradable part, this may void your warranty.
The RAM is a different story and...
I've had those problems on Be for a couple of weeks.. with the added bonus of hardly being able to connect to or host COD4/COD5 games for whatever reason, related or not. I have been with Be and also had it installed at my folks house for nearly 2 years now. The first year was excellent but the...
LOL :D
He wouldn't sell it chaps, the old boy is strange in that, even despite owning vintage Fenders & Gibsons for years (been playing since he was 5) he gets enormous satisfaction from getting a great sound out of some unknown cheapo like this thing !
cheers :)
Thanks chaps :)
It is a bit strange looking and the choice of colours not to my taste at all, but the finish and build quality are surprisingly good ! I haven't heard my dad playing it yet but he says it sounds great. I reckon the identity of the maker will most likely remain a mystery as you...
Here we have an unidentified electric guitar bought at a car boot sale by my dad for 30 quid.. it's one-piece and there is not a bit of branding to be seen on it other than the pickups which state 'made under license of floyd rose'.
I wouldn't imagine it's exotic or expensive - anyone...
Here are some important questions you need to consider before you can realistically spec which monitors you should be using.. the KRK RP8s may well be too big:
What size is your room ?
What position are your speakers going to be in, i.e. on a desk, on stands, close to a wall ?
P.S. I have...
Tried MainStage out tonight with patches you mentioned at 128 Samples latency in the Firewire Solo. Playing away with the Bosendorfer Piano Club, probably average of 5 or 6 active notes at any time, no dropouts at all - sounds great. CPU is 25% or less. The Clavs and Electric Piano patches were...
MacBook here, 2Ghz Core 2 Duo / 2GB RAM.
I bought Logic Studio on day of release and it's been great. Not my main DAW (Ableton Live is) and I don't use Main Stage but i can test it for polyphony and dropouts if you specify which patch and how low you want the latency ?
That's the chap to get ! I bought one from OcUK recently, seems quick and as quiet as the stock drive in my non-pro MacBook. I haven't used it on battery yet but by all accounts it has minimal effect on battery life too.
cheers :)
Imminent i would think ! The iMac and Mini are the only models that haven't received a revision this year - with even the consumer MacBook having been updated I'd think the iMac update has to be just round the corner :)
