Sorry I should have been paying more attention to the thinkbroadband links.
Here's some more testing I did today when I got in from work, both on my PC and Macbook.
On PC over ethernet (for comparison)

Yeah all devices are affected.
I am running my tests over ethernet on my PC - it is the only thing connected to the Home Hub 4. I have disabled both wireless channels while I do this just to be sure.
Current ADSL line status is (this is expected)
Downstream: 6.398 Mbps
Upstream: 1.062...
Hi folks
Wonder if you can help shed some light on my problem as I'm stumped.
I have standard BT broadband (can't get fibre at the moment) and connect at 6Mb which isn't great but expected.
However the problem is with my website download speeds, they are awful, and they tend to sit around...
Hi there
I recently purchased a Marantz MCR511 which I use to watch TV (H6400) via optical.
Everything works fine watching normal TV, but when I access iPlayer or ITV Hub via the Smart Apps the audio does not play and a message pops up on the front of the Marantz saying 'Unsupported...
Update:
Just purchased the Samsung UE40H6400 from John Lewis for £399 with 5 year guarantee.
I dithered for a while about getting the UE40JU6400 4K model, but couldn't really justify another £100 for 4K viewing that I'll use once in a blue moon.
The H6400 is£50 cheaper elsewhere but I wanted...
Depends on usage I guess.
I use Plex as most of my content is offline (downloads opposed to streaming).
However, I've been experimenting with the IPTV Plex addon tonight but with little success, has anyone got this working steadily?
No will be sticking with 2.0. Don't really have an appropriate room for surround or 5.1.
Can you explain what you mean by it simplifys things? Is it a usability thing?
What I'm not getting is the pros and cons of connecting my HDMI sources to the AVR, as opposed to all the HDMI sources...
Hi folks
I'm looking for something to accompany new my set up that I'm about to purchase (Samsung H6400 TV and Q Acoustics 3010 speakers).
What I'm confused about though is whether to go with an AV Receiver or a Stereo/Hifi mini system. There's two products I'm interested in so far:
Pioneer...
Nice smr! I still haven't made my purchase yet - had a few things to shell out for this month. You'll have to let me know how you get on with it.
I think I'll go for the 40" H6400 too, although I still get waves of doubt when l look at the Sony Bravia KDL40W705C - I'm a terrible ditherer.
Thanks for all the replies so far.
The Samsung's ahead right now, but I'm not that keen on the stand - maybe it'll grow on me.
The stand on the Sony however is pretty slick.
On another note, I can't seem to find the Sony Bravia KDL42W705 anywhere, but I have found the KDL40W705C. Apart from...
Hi folks
I'm in the market for a new TV. Interested to hear your thoughts/pros & cons on my shortlist below.
I'm not that fussed by 4K or 3D.
I'll be using it mostly for Freeview HD, gaming, sports, and streaming.
Ideal size 40" - 43"
Budget £400-£550 ish
I've done a fair amount...
Thanks for the posts guys.
I've done a tonne of trial and error this week, spent hours trawling discussion forums and help articles. I've read both the articles you've posted Kei but I thank you for your post.
I know it's not the onboard sound because I get the same high pitched noise using my...
Spoke to a friend at work who is pretty up on his sound. He said it could be a grounding loop.
The mixer is earthed (metal pin instead of plastic on plug) so as soon as I introduce it to the Amp / PC setup the noise returns.
As soon as I take the mixer out (unplug at the wall, or remove...
