The Samyang 18mm is pretty decent. Have you considered an old lens with an adapter? I used a Tokina 17mm on my A7 for a few years and got some nice results. You'll lose autofocus but that may not matter depending on what you're shooting.
The kit lens is ok but it wouldn't be my first choice. I've gone the other way with my lenses. I still use the Sony 85mm and Sony 55mm but I generally have a Tamron zoom on my A7iii. I shot with pretty much the 28 - 75mm f2.8 for aroud a year without really taking it off. The 70-180mm and...
Have you considered an RX100? I have the mkiii and it takes much better photos than a Samsung phone. It's not up there with with a compact system camera but they're groovy. I have an A6000 and an RX100iii and I generally take the RX100 out if I can't be bothered with a bag for the full frame.
I think with Instagram you need to let go of chasing likes. There was a period last year when I jumped from getting 500 likes to between 1k and 5k one each post. It's gone back down now to 500 or 1.5k on a very good day even though i have a few thousand extra followers. Instagram will limit who...
I've been using Smugmug for a few years now and am a big fan. It's really easy to set up with their templates and it ties in to various print labs. They handle all of the order processing and take 15 percent of your mark up. I use if for sharing images for events, models etc. Here's my site if...
I picked up a Sony 18-200 last week for £300 2nd hand. I'm pretty happy with it and will be selling my 55-210 to get some of the money back. It's certainly worth taking a look at as its quite a range and nice not having to change lenses all the time.
Nice shot. I was thinking more handheld shots at night, street stuff etc. and gigs where the light is poor. I took a few slow exposures a month or so ago and they were OK, not up there with the A6000 though.
I'd suggest checking out the Sony E-mount range such as the A6000. It's a little bigger but has interchangeable lenses. I have an RX100 and although it's a very cool camera I find it a little limited in low light. I took it on a recent trip away and once night kicked in I wished I'd had...

I've been using Smugmug for a few years now to sell my work. They host my site and allows customers to purchase prints which are printed and sent out b Loxley Colour. I've had no issues with them in the past and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
It's miles better, a little bigger but still very portable. When I'm travelling I often take the A6000 over my A7 and don't feel like its lacking at all.
I've had a an A6000 for almost 2 years now and wouldn't be without it. The A6000 with the kit lens is just great when it comes to size vs performance. I've got a 50mm f1.8 for it and for me that is the carry everywhere kit, it fits in my pockets and comes almost everywhere with me.
I also...
