i use cat5 quite hapily at gigabit speeds, 5e is just guarenteed to run at those kind of speeds ;)

Recovering raid arrays isnt a straight forward process. Something like http://www.x-ways.net/forensics/index-m.html this might recover it, their free version called winhex may also recovery from raid arrays but I wouldnt put money on it. How critical is the data? If it's very important, dont...
