Sold my RS Turbo as the rust was starting to take over. Picked this up about a month ago to replace it. Much more rewarding to drive. :D

1987 Escort - Alternator failed, battery went flat. Recovered. Only thing in nearly 2 years of ownership. Not that bad really.

I've used mine everyday pretty much for the last year and a half, only once broken down (alternator!) If that one in the OP is honest it could be a good buy, I paid 2k for my standard RS back in Jan 07. :o As bigchez said, hop over to Passionford quite a lot of helpful info there, fixed...

About 90 miles or so each way. I was expecting to have to go upto around 150 each way as they aren't common cars anymore. Wasn't too bothered though as I got a lift down there and had an interesting drive back. :D

Yep love it, even though its old and expensive to keep on the road, its worth it. :cool: Can't wait to get my brake conversion done, MOT it and get back in the drivers seat. :D

2x Alternators Rear wheel bearings Thermostat Rear brake shoes and cylinders CV boot Steering rack gaiters Fan temperature switch Think thats all. Nothing major and some are just consumables, pretty good for an old car.

I'm a Ford man so want to say the RS200, but in honesty its gotta be the Audi for me, incredible noise. :cool:

Yeah I'm definitely "attached" to my car, would be very annoyed/upset if it was wrote off or stolen. I guess the main reason would be the time and effort put in to maintain and improve it, and finding out all the little quirks etc. :D
