My totally unprofessional read of it sounded like you are liable for income tax on the then value of the cryptoassets earned directly from mining. You are then liable for capital gains tax on the additional profit if you hold and sell in future.
Yes, I think the autodisabling of shadowplay/instant replay came about from the 8k update. I don’t think shadowplay properly supports 5120x1440. If you want to record, you have to set the recording resolution to 1080p and it will capture a downscaled video (but still at 32:9). From reading...
HDCP doesn’t work on 240hz mode, but does in 120hz. I can confirm this is the case for me. Not sure if this is working as intended, but I suspect it is.
Another bug in the firmware for this monitor is that it doesn't save the custom colour level profiles - you will lose them when the monitor loses signal from your source. So calibration will only be so useless.
Yep still have this issue after months of firmware updates. Incredibly annoying. Its agnostic of having HDR on or off for me. Often happens at boot too, so very difficult to get into UEFI.
I got mine over the weekend and updated to the 1006.2 firmware. I noticed that when I adjust the colour levels under the custom profile it always resets back to the default (50/50/50) every time the display signal cuts out (for example, from turning off the computer) or when the screen is...
Everyone is rushing to argue that the hardware is at fault. A more reasonable one is that the boost algorithm is the issue and needs to be dialled back. The partner boards have to be approved by nVidia before they go live after all.
The advertised speeds are the manufacturer’s commitment/obligation to the customer. They don’t “owe” you anything more than that. Whatever you get from the GPU boost algorithm is icing on the cake. This is a luxury product and a completely optional purchase. You (as a consumer) decide whether...
No one has promised that the GPU should run at ~2000+mhz clock. Each vendor has a stated base and boost clock, which is a specification that it looks like they do meet, as well as the opportunistic boosting algorithm which is advertised to try (but no promises) to push things further. It sounds...
So close I could almost taste it - 13:58 at checkout screen before the website fell apart. Order finally went through at 14:19. Ah well its not to be  Best to wait for Team Red's announcement now.
I don't see why so many feel like they need to justify their purchase pre-order, this is...
I managed to get a Buffalo 8 port rj-45 Multigig for £300 when that auction site has its fairly frequent voucher codes. You could keep an eye out for Black Friday.
