Problem getting monitor to start up...help needed please

Sounds very strange. If you have a spare HDMI or displayport lead it may be worth trying that and seeing if it still behaves the same.

    Is this unusual....

If the production dates are thay far apart then they are going to be different batches. As far as idle noise goes: mine (all WD gold) only make a notable noise during seek so you might want to check what power settings you have applied to that drive; though I'd be surprised if one is set to...

Problem getting monitor to start up...help needed please

Does the monitor start but declare that it has no input or is it not powering on at all for the first couple of presses?

    Is this unusual....

Are they from different batches? Also which NAS are you using? If you have hot swap trays they sometimes rattle, especially if they are tool-less

Any Office 2019 Word Gurus Here? “Save As” Causing Original File To Be Edited

No problem! Printing as PDF or setting complete documents to read only are other options to avoid accidental edits

Any Office 2019 Word Gurus Here? “Save As” Causing Original File To Be Edited

My guess is you have autosave turned on, if thats the case you need to create the new file first, then make the changes or turn off autosave (but remember to save manually more often to compensate).

    Pompeii

Personally I would book the train in advance if it's not on the same day as your arrival to Naples. you know what you are paying then. I went to Rome via Naples, we looked at going to Pompei but couldn't fit it in with our flight schedule unfortunately - so I can't help on that front; does...

    Pompeii

Have you decided how you are planning to get from Naples to Pompei? When I used the trains it was pretty straightforward to book the tickets in advance and load them on to a phone bit you had to know which service you were going to be on (Naples to Rome so may be less specific for a more local...

    dell laptop fresh install

The main difference would be the removal of any software dell put on it that you dont want (which you could possibly just uninstall). Having said that, the last pair of laptops I've had have been Dell's and they didn't come with anything that I could spot that was getting in the way.

What CPU Cooler should i get for my Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Thanks to Noctua's slightly odd naming system the NH-D15 has both fans, the NH-D15S has just 1 fan (presumably the S means single?). My comment is about the dual fan installation for anyone who finds that useful (for other coolers with the Noctua fans etc.)

    Telephone repair

Push button phones work by combining pairs of tones to create the signal per button push. There are loads of potential component combinations that can do this in an analogue format so you will probably have to troubleshoot around the components inside the phone, taking note of data on the...

    Reverse light fuse keeps popping

If the bulbs are out and it still blows it has to be a short unless it's a shared fuse with another load (which would be unusual for a lighting circuit).

    Reverse light fuse keeps popping

What model of car is it? It could be a fault anywhere along the circuit to the reverse lamps from that fuse, so maybe but could also be a few other potential causes too.

Son won some PC goodies - need help :)

Firstly congrats to your son, free PC goodies are always good! A little bit of digging around suggests the new card will draw around 45W more and stock power supplies in the likes of HP's can be pretty close to the limit to keep their costs down. You can get a 600W PSU from OcUK for about £45...

Help with SSD & HDD drives on new PC

OK, I would suggest trying a Molex to SATA power adaptor to one or both drives and seeing if that changes things (assuming you have Molex connectors on your PSU and an adaptor). The adaptor will not provide 3.3V and that's only used as a sleep command by HDD's...
