    D800 or D800E ?

Might depend on what you shoot. I opted for the regular D800 just to be on safe side with feather detail on birds. Also, when I popped in to Dixons duty free on the off chance, they had a single D800 in stock so I couldn't say no :D

Images from my Yellowstone winter trip

Very much appreciate the comments everyone thank you! It really is an amazing place. I was watching the Yellowstone documentary last night, first time since I've been on the trip. It took on a whole new meaning time round, especially when they are talking about the cold lol Updated my original...

    Selling a Digital image

I always revert to the Alamy online price calculator if I'm unsure on pricing for something specific. But they only do costs on low res jpegs I believe. If you are happy for them to go off and do their own prints etc, then maybe just charge for 3 times your standard A3 print rate. But if you'd...

Images from my Yellowstone winter trip

Hey all :) I've been pretty quiet this year with photography as I had to concentrate on getting my wedding sorted. But now I'm a married man I've finally had time to process and write up about my images from the Yellowstone trip I took at the start of the year. It's a pretty big write up, so...

Thank you all, it really was an amazing day! And given we arranged in all 4 months, came together way better than expected!! lol, indeed, my hair colour has gradually matched my name over the years :D My wife is muslim and I'm non-religious, so we had two cermonies on the day, so as to make...

I got married!! Wanna see some pics?

I've been very out of loop with photography for the last 6 weeks or so as I was getting married and was mega busy in the lead up. All done now though and I thought I'd share some pics of the big day... and WOW, what a day! We got married on Sunday 18th at the stunning Sculpture Gallery and it...

Just for fun, a fox at ISO 10,000

don't forget the tripod too lol There's another member on here with a canon 800mm, I think that costs about that much before you stick a camera on it lol I used to worry about that a lot back when I got my first expensive lens. But after a while you just get on with it. But yeah, same as...

Just for fun, a fox at ISO 10,000

That's why I say give it a few years. It'll happen...! The D7000 has exceptionally good ISO, closing the gap on the D3. And I expect the D400 will improve on this again. And all that technology makes its way down the line. Your D5100 probably looks way better at high ISO than my old D2x did! :)...

Just for fun, a fox at ISO 10,000

Yes it's a weird effect isn't it. I think it's partly due to the ISO and partly because you are shooting with no light. lol. Yep you'd expect it to do well. But when you are actually sitting there in the onset of dakrness, I still find it surprising when I look on the camera LCD and see what...

Just for fun, a fox at ISO 10,000

A fox taken at dusk a few days ago. One of the least frightened foxes I've ever seen. It came so close that at times I could just about get it's head in the frame (and we were sitting out in the open too)! Apologies for the slightly off framing here, but at 1/40 second it was very hard to get...

Porn! I see your 7.5" and raise you 12"

lol yeah there is a LOT of hood with the 600! I rarely use both sections actually! Us Nikon shooters love that Canon 800. It's barely any larger than the 600mm but more importantly it's 4.5kg so lighter too! I'd love to see Nikon update the 1.4x with improved optics. That would be fantastic!

Nikon announcement/event on August 24th [Rumour] New bodies inc [/Rumour]

I'd guess a 20mp D4 with better video, faster and at least a stop better than the D3s. Whatever it is, I'm in! It's gonna be good, no question. I've already sniffed around and asked to be put at the top of the waiting list with a dealer when the announcement is official and a list is started...

Will switching site hosting to USA impact site ranking?

Thanks for the replies guys. The only reason for wanting to swtich to the U.S. hosting (http://www.hostduplex.com/) is because they come highly recommended. I spoke with their customer service online too and they were exceptionally helpful. A far cry from my current host (Web Fusion). Due to...

Will switching site hosting to USA impact site ranking?

Hi all :) I'm looking at swaping my web hosting to a new company, and I've been recommened a company based in the USA by several people who run very traffic heavy sites. I've spoken with this hosting company and am very happy with what they have to offer. But I currently get quite good...

    My Nikon D7000 review

Yep, you're right! Well spotted. You know it's funny, no matter how many times I run something through spell check, make ammednments or proof read something, when it's this long, and I do it over the course of several days I always miss something  :D I'll sort those out, thanks...
