Ye that it true alright, though still wish we didn't have to deal with these quality control issues ;/
This is my best attempt to show the IPS glow I have, still slightly exaggerated but is visible in bottom left. My feeling is this is within the expected range?
I currently have HDR off, is...
My one seems to suffer from IPS glow on the bottom left. Is this common? I notice it if I look for it and more obvious in dark scenes (my brightness set to 39%)
Just received mine, first impressions are good.. first thing I did was turn off desktop HDR (is that meant to be on by default??)2
I get the feeling this is not a new sealed unit though, was some finger prints on the stand.. but if no issues crop up i don't mind!
Just need to wait till...
If it was me I'd go 27" 1440p instead of 32", bit cheaper and you're not really losing any real estate.
I'm going for two 27" 1440p.

I'd also say 4k won't be too helpful, especially...
I'm no expert but I'm guessing it's something related to the flickering caused by backlight strobbing and other stuff (PWM I think?), this thread may be of interest https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?t=5206
If colour accuracy isn't a huge deal then the Dell S2721DS maybe?

From what I can tell it looks pretty similar to the gaming S2721DGF but without the gaming stuff, which has got very good reviews
Dell S2721DGF may be worth a look, ticks most of your boxes I think and can be got for a reasonable price (link https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/new-dell-ips-s2721dgf-165hz-gaming-monitor.18892819/)
Hey!
I'm looking to get x2 27" monitors mostly for work, with some gaming.
I was looking at getting two of the seemingly popular S2721DGF but I got thinking..
For gaming I don't see myself using both so was thinking about the S2721DGF and something else, maybe the S2721DS?? which looks...
Thanks for that! I'm in the same boat that I'm looking for a gaming/work monitor. I sent back a GB3461WQSU-B1 last week as I felt the mat coating was too noticeable and didn't feel the flat UW was the best choice for productivity. I'm very tempted by this dell
Better :D quick review focusing on everything that matters.
I'd like to try 1000R in person, hate having to order something with a chance I'll send it back.
I'm trying to decide between something like the IPS S2721DGF and the G7 but this review has zero credibility.. not one mention of how the VA panel is in terms of ghosting/smearing
Without sounding cheeky.. up your budget, I'm also a WFH software engineer and i'm currently returning a GB3461WQSU-B1 because the picture quality just isn't good enough for me (it would be perfect for casual and gaming usage but staring at mostly static content all day is another story imo)
Is backlight bleed, that's visible to your eye, a defect that is grounds for a return?
I ask because if I return just because I don't like it then I have to pay for shipping.
So it turns out the picture quality is awful due to Mac OS (Catalina) doing something, once I plugged it into my personal Windows machine the picture was at least on par with my older monitor.
anyone any idea's what could be wrong? How do I reset any profiling that is being applied?
Aside from...
I'm returning mine :( , I understood there would be compromises to get an IPS ultrawide at this price point but for it's picture quality to be substantially lower than my 6 year old, half the price, PLS screen is unacceptable.
I think the only way to recommend this screen is you must have...
I just set mine up and it looks awful ;/ it looks very washed out?
I'm coming from a 6 year old samsung PLS panel, I would have expected this to be an upgrade. Is there any guide for calibrating this?
I keep hearing that VA panels have slow response times, I'm a bit on the fence if I'll get the AOC or wait for the GB3466WQSU-B1 to be available again.
Anyone able to comment on AOC CU34G2X/BK in terms of response?
