Christians and Muslims fighting in Egypt

Every (serious) reply in this thread has spoken in generalisations rather than about the linked story itself. And the generalisations aren't even right. Only around the time of the Arab Spring we had the story of Coptic Christians protecting Egyptian Muslims during prayer:

Most ridiculous lack of customer service you've encountered?

Recently quit a part-time job working the phones for them. What was your issue?

Facebook: how do my mates know Ive read a private message????

A sneaky (and very old) way of doing this without permission is to include a link to a small unique image in the email, and if you control the server the image is on you can check when the email is viewed by checking when that image was requested from the server. A lot of email providers...

Facebook: how do my mates know Ive read a private message????

I'd imagine it's done in PHP, so that when you request the information within by clicking on it, it logs this request and who you are via your session, and prints this as 'Viewed by...' data to everyone else. I don't find it that useful as no-one's ever complained to me for not replying...

    Ireland finds oil!

Not really. Didn't really want to call attention to it as I normally like Mag's posts, but that attempt was pretty crap. I've heard good Famine jokes before but this registered as something unfunny made up on the spot just to arbitrarily mention a 'bad-taste' subject.

There's only one way we'll recognise you. Are you going with 'soft white' or 'wholemeal'?

    Benefits of an Irish passport?

And I presume this immediately equates to about a thousand years as a independent nation, nearly half of which was spent with overseas possessions with that whole 'sun never sets' business to describe its scale? This isn't to say that I believe that colonial legacies will ever effect the vast...

    Benefits of an Irish passport?

The most likely advantage you'd derive from owning one is the slight reduction in scrutiny you'd receive in some countries because of the (lack of) negative political and historical connotations Ireland has due to its short history as an independent nation. In the vast majority of situations...

    Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 17th September 2012]

Benitez wasn't willing to sell Alonso, Hicks and The Best A Man Get told him if he sold Alonso he'd get the money back to replace him, Rafa sold, asked for the money, owners told him 'don't tell me how to run my club' or something similar, Rafa is hung by the Anfield faithful. Would link to...

It would help your case so much if you just got over yourself even a little bit when talking to others. I know it must come as a shock that people in a footballing subforum might express opinions on football and their reasoning for holding that opinion, especially to an undisputed expert like...

    Hillsborough Disaster

That's still a chance you're taking though, and worse still it is a chance you're taking with other people. Even if our hypothetical queue is 100 people long, that person that shoved at the back is either doing so at worst in complete ignorance or at best on the baseless assumption that the...

    Hillsborough Disaster

I think nearly all of the points made in this regard did not address fault collectively. Certainly anyone actually killed or harmed by the crowd are beyond reproach as to receive their injuries they would have had to have been near the fringes of the pens, and not near the rear of the crowd...

    Hillsborough Disaster

I think it's more accurate to say human beings, but some posters have painted themselves into ridiculous arguments because of well-intentioned defence of LFC (which, as mentioned, wasn't always 'in vogue').

Is it too early to say water-soluble yellow face-paint from a fancy dress shop or the internet? It is GD.
