    Football grounds you've visited

To be honest, I get vertigo climbing a ladder - so I'm sure it's just me! :(

    Football grounds you've visited

I was at the new Wembley in May at the playoff finals, my first time there. I'd been warned about the food and drink prices, so took my own (take cartons, not cans or bottles, and put everything in a clear plastic bag so the stewards can see what it is). That saved a fortune. I was on the...

    Football grounds you've visited

Heresy! Our new ground (the Ka$$am Stadium) is modern, out of town and easy to park at, but isn't a patch on the Manor yet - although the atmosphere IS getting better! Since we've just come back up from non-league, I could tell you a few stories about the grounds we went to when we were...

Is this a sign for me to give up 3d and 120hz?

Have you tried adjusting the lighting in the room? Some people can see flicker in a 120Hz monitor when there is lighting in the room as there is interference between the two which produces as strobing effect in the corners of your eyes. For what it's worth, I have an Nvidia 3D vision system...

    Samsung monitor problem

Hi all - Just looking for a bit of advice, to make sure I'm not being daft! My monitor (a Samsung 2233rz) went wrong, and Samsung have swapped it under warranty. The replacement monitor is supposedly exactly the same, yet when plugged in to the PC, Windows detects it as the wrong monitor -...

Anyone ever heard of Castagnari? (accordian manufacturer)

Yes, I know about Castagnari. I have a three row in A/D/G, 12 bass. What you have there is a one-row four stop 2 bass. The stops are the knobs on the top (it's upside down in your photo). Each stop controls a bank of reeds. There are four reeds to each button, so by pulling the knobs up you can...

    Help! Odd connectivity problem!

Just to answer my own thread - in case it should help anyone else... I reinstalled my firewall (ZoneAlarm) which hadn't been working since my reinstall and that fixed it. Of course I had to use another computer to download it as this one kept logging me off. Now all seems fine. An odd one...

    Help! Odd connectivity problem!

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to type this fast before the connection goes down! Once It has gone: The telnet fails to connect. The nslookup can get the ip address of google successfully. Ping still works. Does that give you any clues? Thanks again - Jon

Big TV - recommend me one!

Hi all - At work, we are considering putting up a large TV type screen so we can show examples of our (web and graphic) work. As a secondary consideration (no really!) it would be nice if we could watch the football/cricket in a decent picture and maybe even play Wii at lunchtimes! Looking...

    Gig photographs

No problem - someone sent the link to me because they thought I might be interested in seeing the pictures of the guitarist. I didn't take the pictures - sorry if I didn't explain myself well. I just thought they were nice gig pictures!

    Gig photographs

No, I'm not Kelvin Jay and don't even know who he is! I think robertgilbert86 meant that he'd like a link to some of my stereo photography. Unfortunately I do it the old fashioned way (on slide film) which means it needs a special viewer (or special software) really. If I can get my act...

    Gig photographs

Hi all, Don't normally venture into here (your photos are all too flat for me - see sig!) but I was sent this link to some gig photos that I thought were really good and since I know that some of you take photos at gigs thought you might be interested...

    Network help - noob alert!

Thanks again all. I have put both computers into the same workgroup, but they can't see each other still. Any ideas? Also, I can alter the address of the DNS server in the properties section of the wireless connection, but for some reason, this seems to be lost every time the PC is...

    Network help - noob alert!

Well that worked. Popped the Tiscali DNS addresses into the properties for the connection and there was light! Thanks for that, brilliant! One problem down, one to go :) Now how can I network my two PCs together to share files etc? (I told you I didn't understand this - I bet you all...

    Network help - noob alert!

Hmm - OK Oddness is correct! I put that IP address in the browser and got google.co.uk. Put in www.google.co.uk - no good at all. Pinged www.google.co.uk and it worked EXCEPT it claimed the IP of that was 216.239.59.147 :( Oh and I'm on Tiscali

OK - I can ping sites, but can't connect to them with a browser. Does that make any sense at all?
