Actually, I've been a-hankering for a WW1 strategy game along the lines of the Total War series for a long time now, that or a grand-scale FPS focused more on the story than the shooting... I think the Total War series could really capture the WW1 conflict perfectly.

I've got it running on 7 x64... Will update when I get back home to check which mods I've installed and how it's all configured (was a bit bodged if I remember). SS2 co-op is buckets of fun.

Sorry, should have said... Rome is excellent, but if you're going back to it from a newer edition in the series (as I did from Empire) you'll find it a bit spartan. If you can get if for a fiver a copy it's definitely worth a blast.

I'd be interested in attending, but not as a player... I'm a network technician and could quite likely supply a few 24 / 48 port 1Gbps switches for use at the event. Also got some other hardware lying around that could be used to provide other services (routers, firewalls, laptops, storage etc.).

And that is reason enough to never allow you to enter Military service.
